Beschrijving van de reis

This tour starts and ends in Semera (optionally, it can start in Semera and end in Mekelle, start in Mekelle and end in Semera, or start and end in Mekelle). On this 3-day tour, you will explore Afdera, where you can swim in Lake Afrera/Gulati, bathe in a natural hot spring, and see salt mining. You will visit Erta Ale Volcano, one of the world's permanently active lava lakes. Dallol Volcano is a colorful place with an accumulation of several minerals, salt mountains and canyons, yellow ponds and sulfur lakes, local salt mining and camel caravans, and Lake Asale/Karum.

dag 1
Semera-Afdera-Danakil Depression (HamadEla)
- Morning: Pick up from Semera Airport, your hotel, or any location in Semera, and drive to Afdera. - After lunch in Afdera, we proceed to HamadEla. - You will have a chance to swim in a salt pond. - Visit: • Camel caravans heading back from the salt mining area to HamadEla and the highlands (if available) • Sunset on Lake Asale/Karum Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner Overnight: Outside under the stars in HamadEla

Danakil Depression (Dallol) - ErtaAle
- In the morning, visit: • Dallol Volcano • Salt Mountains (Canyons) • Sulfur Lake • Camel Caravans & Local Salt Mining (if available) - Drive back to HamadEla, have lunch, and proceed to Erta Ale. - TREK (30-40 minutes – you can hire a camel for the ride if interested) to the top of Erta Ale Mountain. - Visit Erta Ale Volcano (Lava Lake) during the night. - TREK (30-40 minutes) back to the camp. Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner Overnight: Outside/inside local huts

Danakil Depression (Erta Ale) - Afdera - Semera
- Early morning second visit to Erta Ale Volcano (Lava Lake) (if interested). - After breakfast, drive to Afdera. You can swim in Lake Afrera and take a bath in the hydrothermal springs. - After lunch in Afdera, proceed to Semera and transfer to Semera Airport to catch your 5 pm flight back to Addis. Meal plan: Breakfast and lunch
