Fly into Northern Serengeti (Kogatende)After a pleasant arrival at the airport, you will be welcomed by our company representative. After a short introduction and a briefing about your epic safari adventure, you will then catch your flight to the northern Serengeti “Kogatende”. Enjoy full-day game drives in Northern Serengeti National Park and witness the dramatic Mara River. The word Serengeti comes from the Maasai word "Siringet", which means “the endless plain”. You will spend time in the northern part of the Serengeti, a popular area in the entire reserve known as “the big cat capital of Africa”. You will also see other animals, including elephants, giraffes, impala, waterbuck, hippo, reedbuck, buffalo, and baboon. The Serengeti is rich in lions, leopards, and cheetahs, which can be spotted on one-day game drives. After a full day of game viewing, you will have an evening at leisure, followed by dinner and an overnight stay at your accommodation.

North Serengeti to Central SerengetiOn this day, you will drive to the central Serengeti while enjoying game viewing en route. The Serengeti is home to an abundance of wildlife, such as impalas, buffalo, crocodiles, and hippos, but it is best known for its great migrating herds of zebras and wildebeest (depending on their location and the time of your trip). The animals’ trek is determined by rainfall and varies from year to year. Apart from the migrating herds, you may see predators such as leopards, cheetahs, and lions. Dinner and your overnight stay will be at your accommodation.

Central Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater to KaratuAfter an early breakfast, you will head out for an en-route game drive through the Serengeti. You might be able to spot animals before embarking on your journey to the Ngorongoro Crater. This UNESCO World Heritage Site, formed millions of years ago, is 600 m deep and covers roughly 260 sq km. Due to its dense animal population of approximately 25 000, the crater offers the best game viewing of all the parks in Tanzania. You will arrive at the crater rim before lunch. You will descend into the crater and, in a matter of minutes, you will be able to see wildebeest, zebras, gazelles, elephants, and some of the more than 500 bird species in the area. With a little luck, you might catch a glimpse of the endangered black rhino through the grass. After a picnic lunch, which will be carried from your accommodation in the Serengeti, you will spend a full afternoon inside the crater. After that, you will head to your accommodation in Karatu for dinner and your overnight stay outside the crater.

Tarangire National Park to ArushaAfter breakfast at the hotel, depart for Tarangire, Tanzania's third-largest national park and a sanctuary for an unusually large elephant population. Majestic baobab trees are a distinctive feature of the park, dwarfing the animals that feed beneath them. Animals concentrate along the Tarangire River, which provides the only permanent water supply in the area. There is a great diversity of wildlife, including lions, leopards, cheetahs, and up to six thousand elephants. In the evening, you will drive back to Arusha for your onward destination, either Zanzibar or back home. We will work with your plan based on the updates you share with us.
