Solio ConservancyYour first long game drive awaits you today. "Solio Ranch" is one of the most beautiful game parks in Africa and has not been on the tourist map for generations. The park is a fenced, privately owned wildlife reserve focused on rhino conservation. Solio Game Reserve was established in 1970, when the owner of Solio Cattle moved a large portion of the land and dedicated it to conservation. The park plays an important role in the conservation and breeding of black rhinos in Kenya. Breeding has been so successful that rhinos from Solio Game Reserve are released throughout Africa. In addition to the world's largest population of white rhinos and nearly a hundred black rhinos, Solio Reserve is inhabited by various other wildlife, including buffalo, zebra, giraffe, oryx, antelope, Thomson's gazelle, impala, waterbuck, and warthog. The park also offers some of the best leopard viewing in the country, and lions and cheetahs can also be found. An unforgettable game drive is guaranteed. Overnight and all meals at Utulivu House.

Ol Pejeta Conservancy
After breakfast, drive to Ol Pejeta Conservancy, a beautiful private game reserve known for its conservation programs and home to the last northern white rhino. The reserve is home to rare species such as the Beisa oryx, Rothschild’s giraffe, and black rhino. On the game drive, you can experience a range of African wildlife, such as lions, leopards, cheetahs, elephants, and hippos. Another highlight is a visit to the chimpanzees at the Jane Goodall Institute in the Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary. Other optional activities include bird walks, where you can observe several hundred species, horse riding, and camel riding (at an extra charge). From a cattle ranch in colonial Kenya to a pioneer of innovative conservation measures, the story of Ol Pejeta is as enchanting as it is inspiring. Today, Ol Pejeta is the largest black rhino sanctuary in East Africa and home to two of the last northern white rhinos in the world. It is the only place in Kenya where you can see chimpanzees, in a sanctuary set up to rehabilitate animals rescued from the black market. It has one of the highest densities of predators in Kenya and still runs a very successful cattle breeding program. Today, you have the opportunity to observe the last northern white rhinos and explore the amazing wildlife of the sanctuary on game drives. ALTERNATIVE After breakfast, you set off for the breathtaking highlands of the Aberdare Mountains. Your journey takes you into Aberdare National Park, where you'll enjoy a delicious lunch before heading out on an exciting game drive. Aberdare National Park spans the elevated slopes and expansive moorlands of the Aberdare Range. The scenery is truly spectacular, ranging from misty moors and forested hills to steep gorges, crystal-clear streams, and cascading waterfalls. Due to its high altitude, the park has a cool and wet climate—during the rainy season, the roads can become difficult to navigate. The park is jointly managed by the Kenya Wildlife Service and Rhino Ark, a non-profit organization dedicated to the conservation of the region and its wildlife. Of particular note is the park’s population of black rhinos—Kenya’s second-largest group of this critically endangered species. The park is also home to a wide variety of wildlife, including African elephants, lions, rhinos, the elusive black leopard, and the endangered bongo antelope. In the evening, return to your lodge and unwind in a cozy atmosphere. Enjoy a warm dinner and the comforting crackle of the fire as the evening mist settles over the mountains. Overnight and all meals at Utulivu House

Mpala Ranch Laikipia
You continue in the morning to Northern Laikipia. Twala-Tenebo is located on the semi-arid Laikipia Plateau, near Mount Kenya in northern Kenya. There, a cooperative of over 200 women from six different Maasai groups coexists with the diverse wildlife and sustains itself through aloe farming, beadwork, beekeeping, and ecotourism—offering authentic Maasai cultural experiences and affordable eco-manyatta accommodations. Twala is a Maasai word for a bell. Tenebo means come together. In 2007, the “bell rang” as a symbol of calling the Maasai women to action for capacity enhancement. They joined hands and established a cultural center together. The center works to empower women to work for themselves and preserve the rich cultural and historic heritage of the local Maasai people. The women of Twala are involved in agrotourism, planting Aloe secundiflora without using any chemical fertilizers to avoid soil and water pollution. They also keep bees for honey production. They use the aloe to produce natural beauty products and sell them to beauty firms. At Twala, all profits go directly to the community and are used to support poverty reduction and sustainable development. 10% of the income earned at the center goes toward supporting girls’ education. The cultural center also empowers women by enabling them to work and provide for themselves. Memorable baboon walks alongside troops show that baboons and wildlife, in general, are resources worth protecting. Walks with the Maasai and their cattle offer a chance to learn authentic herding techniques, and landscape tours highlight medicinal plants and the importance of trees to the Maasai people. Learn how people and their domestic animals, as well as wildlife, coexist in one environment in a sustainable manner. Overnight and all meals at Mpala Ranch House.
