Transfer to Khwai & Walking Safari to Elephant Pan
Your journey begins with a scheduled or charter transfer into Khwai, either by light aircraft to the Khwai airstrip or by road transfer from Maun or Moremi, depending on your wider itinerary. On arrival, you are met by your private walking guide and back-up guide, who will brief you on safety, walking etiquette, and what to expect over the coming days. The safari begins immediately—on foot. You set out along elephant paths and riverine corridors, moving slowly and deliberately through the landscape. Your guide points out fresh spoor, explains animal behaviour, and reveals the subtle details often missed from a vehicle: crushed grasses, broken branches, alarm calls, and the scent of animals on the wind. By late afternoon, you arrive at Elephant Pan, your camp for the night. Set near a natural pan that attracts wildlife, the camp offers a sense of space and stillness.
