Kigali-Akagera (Evening Safari)
- At 9:00 a.m., your driver-guide will pick you up at the designated meeting point for the transfer to Akagera National Park. The journey takes approximately 3 hours. - After about 1.5 hours of driving, you will stop at the Imigongo Art Center in Kayonza to enjoy a cup of traditional coffee and discover Imigongo art, a traditional Rwandan art form created by women using cow dung to form distinctive geometric patterns. This art dates back to the 19th century and is believed to have been introduced by Prince Kakira, son of the King of Gisaka, as a way of decorating houses. 12:30 p.m.: Lunch at Akagera Transit Lodge. - After lunch, continue to the Akagera Park office for check-in, then proceed to your campsite. 1:30 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.: Camp setup. 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.: Evening game drive along the lakes, offering opportunities to observe aquatic wildlife such as hippos and crocodiles, birdlife, and other wild animals. Akagera National Park is home to nearly 500 bird species, including the impressive shoebill with its massive beak and the near-endemic red-faced barbet. - Continue exploring the park before returning to your campsite around 5:00 p.m. to prepare dinner and enjoy panoramic views of the surroundings. - Dinner preparation: Barbecue (skewers) using items purchased from local supermarkets. - Enjoy a relaxed and convivial evening with your travel companions. Accommodation: Camping at Muyumbu Campsite or Shakani Campsite Meal plan: Lunch and dinner (barbecue – skewers with items purchased from supermarkets) Drinks: Mineral water (please bring additional beverages for your evening at the campsite)

Full day Akagera Safari
- Enjoy the sunrise over the savannah as you prepare to leave the campsite. 07:00 a.m.: Breakfast at the Akagera Park reception. - After breakfast, embark on a full-day safari (approximately 7 hours) in Akagera National Park, traveling from south to north to discover its rich wildlife. This third game drive offers excellent opportunities to observe numerous species, including the Big Five (lions, leopards, rhinos, elephants, and buffalo), as well as giraffes, zebras, antelopes, impalas, oribis, elusive bushbucks, the ungainly tsessebe, and the world’s largest antelope, the majestic eland. - Lunch at Mihindi Campsite. - After lunch, continue your game drive to maximize wildlife sightings, with a focus on the Kilala Plains area, considered the heart of the park and home to a high concentration of animals. - Return to Kigali at around 5:00 p.m. Meal plan: Breakfast (coffee or tea with snacks), lunch (picnic snacks or at Mihindi) Drinks: Mineral water (or bring your own beverages) End of the safari
