Amboseli National Park is a mosaic of savannah plains, acacia woodlands, and lush swamps fed by melted snow from Kilimanjaro. Because the vegetation is sparse and dry, it offers one of the best opportunities in Africa to see large concentrations of wildlife, particularly elephants, up close. The itinerary is designed for optimal game viewing, including a full day to explore the park’s diverse ecosystems and a potential cultural visit to a Maasai village.

Nairobi – Amboseli National Park
Amboseli is part of the savannah plains, with a high population of both bird and animal species. Amboseli has a mixed topography of plains, acacia woodland, rocky thorn bush, swamps, and marshes. The diversity, along with a long dry season, ensures excellent viewing of the large concentrations of African animals living in this natural habitat. Amboseli offers some of the best opportunities to see African animals because its vegetation is sparse due to the long dry months. This is the only park where Africa’s tallest mountain, Mt. Kilimanjaro, acts as a backdrop while on a game drive. The view of this mountain when the clouds open out is spectacular! In Nairobi, you will be picked up from your hotel/airport and depart for Amboseli National Park. After lunch, take an afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight at Amboseli Serena Lodge – FB

In the morning, with your bags packed, you will bid Amboseli “kwaheri,” meaning goodbye, and, full of lasting safari memories, you will depart and embark on your drive back to Nairobi. In Nairobi, time allowing and depending on your schedule, we will offer you a shopping excursion at the Maasai Market. If we have enough time, you can enjoy a sumptuous lunch or dinner barbecue at the famous Carnivore Restaurant before being dropped off for your onward plans (optional at an extra cost).
