Jebel Saghro, a volcanic massif located between the High Atlas and the desert, offers a wild and spectacular setting. This 6-day trek takes you across mineral plateaus, canyons, rocky pinnacles and nomadic villages, for a total immersion in one of the most beautiful natural areas of southern Morocco.
Tag 1
Departure from Marrakech towards the Moroccan South-East, village of Tafdilte
You will leave by taxi, 4x4 or minibus heading towards southern Morocco. Your journey will be a distance of about 320 km. For your lunch, you will take a break in Ouarzazate. You will love the surprising ochre landscapes that are offered to you and will be able to admire traditional Moroccan architecture. After this short lunch break, you will get back on the road towards the Valley of Roses. The Valley of Roses (nickname of the valley of the Oued Dadès) is located in the South-East of Morocco, at the foot of the High Atlas. The entrance to Imassine is marked by the presence of a chaos of large rounded rock blocks; one might even think that some are balanced on the ground. You will also discover small villages made of traditional earth houses, where sumptuous secret gardens hide along the road. Upon your arrival, you will settle in quietly in your lodge in the village of Tadgite (1680 m). You can enjoy your evening to rest or take a short walk in the village. Hike on the northern slope of Jebel Saghro & night in a bivouac
That morning, you will have an early start! After a delicious breakfast, you will set off for a short hike and walk along the northern slope of Jebel Saghro. This summit rises to an altitude of 2 712 m. Located less than 100 km south of the central High Atlas, it overlooks the valleys of the Draâ and the Dadès, as well as the eastern parts of the Anti-Atlas... You will enjoy a striking view of the snow-covered High Atlas range. Get your cameras ready! It is along the way that you will enjoy a stop to savor your lunch, right in the heart of the mountains. In the afternoon, you will continue your walk towards your first bivouac at Amda-n-Oughyoul (2350 m). You will spend a pleasant little evening with friends in your bivouac, in the midst of surprising landscapes. Something to bring back unforgettable memories! Hike towards Igli & night in a bivouac
After your breakfast at the bivouac, you will resume your hike and pass through the Kouaouch pass (2500 m). Here, the landscape changes and the view overlooks the entire pre-Saharan massif, as well as the Central High Atlas. It is after the ascent of Mount Kouaouch that you will have your lunch, an opportunity to enjoy this short break in the heart of a most surprising nature. In the afternoon, you will descend towards Igli (1700 m), in the midst of rocky pinnacles. At the end of the day, you will arrive at your bivouac in Igli, where you will spend the night. You will have your dinner with friends in the middle of nature: what a beautiful adventure! Hike on the Assif Afourar, visit of the village & night in a bivouac
After a good breakfast in the heart of the rocky peaks, you resume the hike by descending the Assif Afourar. Upon arrival, visit of the small village of Afourar and its magnificent gorges. Lunch is planned at Bab-n-Ali (1 359 m). In the afternoon, you continue the walk towards the camp, located before the village of Ighazoun. You spend your last night in bivouac, an opportunity to enjoy one last time the friendly atmosphere and the wild nature of Jebel Saghro.

Hike through the assif Tawdachet, night at the guesthouse in Tifrt
For this last day of trekking, you descend the Tawdachte wadi, passing through charming villages surrounded by lush palm groves. This gentler stage marks the transition between the mountains and the oases. Arrival in Tifrit and overnight at the guesthouse, in a warm and authentic atmosphere.

Transfer by car and return to Marrakech via Ouarzazate
After this little bivouac adventure, you will be transferred by 4x4 or minibus to Ouarzazate, via the Drâa valley. On this road, you will discover sumptuous arid and mineral landscapes. Also called the valley of a thousand kasbahs, you will be delighted by the lush Drâa palm grove, as well as by the great variety of old kasbahs and ksour. You will then take a lunch break in Aït Ben Haddou, one of the best-known and most impressive ksars in Morocco, very well preserved and perfectly representative. This ksar is also very famous for having been the filming location for several films, including the famous Gladiator. In the afternoon, you will continue your journey towards Marrakech, crossing the Tichka pass and the High Atlas.
