Reopening of Iceland's borders

Iceland officially opens its doors to travelers with a vaccination certificate

Indeed, the Ministry of Health announced on Tuesday, March 16, that travelers from the European Schengen free movement area who have been vaccinated will be accepted into the country.

Vaccination certificates issued by Schengen area countries, or the one issued by the WHO under the name "yellow card," are accepted.

Furthermore, all vaccinated persons will not be required to present a negative PCR test or observe a quarantine period at border control.

Any passenger presenting proof of a Covid-19 infection in the last 15 days with a positive test will also not be required to present a negative PCR test or undergo quarantine.

Decisions aimed at reviving the flow of visitors

And yes! Iceland is one of the first European nations to open the external Schengen borders to nationals of third countries. Iceland thus hopes to revive the flow of visitors from the United Kingdom and the United States, which are Iceland's two largest tourist markets, and among the most advanced in vaccination worldwide.

Iceland is currently in a favorable position regarding COVID-19. Indeed, the incidence of coronavirus there is currently only 9 per 100,000 inhabitants, and more than 10% of the population has received at least one dose of a vaccine.

So, as you will have understood, if you need a change of scenery for the peaceful atmosphere of Iceland and you are vaccinated, it is high time to book your tickets and start organizing your trip on the website: https://www.quotatrip.com/
