  Kigali - Volcanoes National Park

  

  - After breakfast around 7:30 am, our professional driver-guide will pick you up from your hotel or the airport and drive you to Volcanoes National Park. On the way, you will appreciate the attractive, green nature through the landscapes of the “thousand hills”. - After lunch in the town of Musanze, visit the twin lakes Burera and Ruhondo, and enjoy the stunning regional views of the volcanoes. - Transfer time: 3 hours - Lunch in the town of Musanze Accommodation: Le Bambou Gorilla Lodge or similar Meal Plan: Lunch and dinner (breakfast not included) Drinks: Mineral water

  Gorilla Tracking

  

  Encountering mountain gorillas in the wild is a deeply moving and humbling experience—one that will stay with you for a lifetime. After an early breakfast, you will proceed to the park headquarters, where visitors gather at 7:00 a.m. for a briefing on safety guidelines and appropriate behavior when in the presence of a gorilla family. You will meet your guide at this point before heading to the starting point of the trek toward your assigned gorilla group. The duration of the trek varies depending on the gorillas’ location and weather conditions. It is essential to come well prepared with sturdy hiking boots, long trousers to protect against stinging nettles, snacks, sweets, and sufficient drinking water, as the rainforest can become hot and humid during the day. Once the gorillas are located by experienced trackers, you will approach them to a maximum distance of five meters in order to avoid disturbance. You will then spend one unforgettable hour observing them in their natural habitat before trekking back to the base and returning to your lodge. Calm and gentle by nature, the gorillas appear largely indifferent to human presence, continuing their daily activities such as feeding, playing, grooming, resting, and moving through the vegetation. At times, they may come remarkably close, creating an intimate and truly fascinating encounter. After the experience, you will return to the foot of the volcanoes and drive back to Kigali.
