2-day safari at Lake Manyara and the Ngorongoro Crater

Tanzania, discover this 2-day trip

Trip Description

Our 2-day safari packages on Lake Manyara and the Ngorongoro Crater are designed to offer visitors with time constraints a short but very intense safari experience focused on the wildlife of the northern Tanzanian circuit. You will experience the excitement of an African wildlife safari, or even a photographic safari, in two of Tanzania's most spectacular national parks. This unforgettable safari in Africa will take you to the Ngorongoro Crater, one of the richest game areas in Africa. Here, you will witness an amazing display of African wildlife, inside a self-contained world teeming with animals. Your excursion will also take you to Lake Manyara National Park, one of the most spectacularly located wildlife areas in Tanzania, consisting of a shallow but immense soda lake at the foot of the western escarpment of the Great Rift Valley. The size of Lake Manyara and Ngorongoro Crater National Parks makes them a perfect choice for our shorter safaris, or for a photographic safari. This is a suggested safari itinerary or an example of a Tanzanian safari itinerary; it can be tailored to your personal needs and preferences, to any seasonal changes, or to the migratory movements of the animals. As with all our African safaris, we offer you a wide variety of accommodation options, which have a direct impact on the total cost of the safari, in order to provide you with as many budget options as possible. Please note that there is no accommodation available in the Ngorongoro Crater National Park. Feel free to contact one of our advisors directly if you need assistance or more detailed information regarding our safaris, tours, trips, and other trekking packages.

  • day 2

Lake Manyara, at the Ngorongoro Crater, return to Arusha.

Distance: 60 km & 190 km After breakfast, we descend 600 m into this magnificent crater for a half-day morning safari. The Ngorongoro Crater is one of the most densely populated African wilderness areas in the world and is home to about 30,000 animals, including some of Tanzania's last black rhinos. Supported by a year-round supply of water and forage, the Ngorongoro National Park is home to a wide variety of animals, including herds of wildebeest, zebras, buffaloes, elands, warthogs, hippos, and giant African elephants. Another trump card of this picturesque national park is the dense population of predators, including lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs, and the ever-elusive leopard, which sometimes requires a trained eye to spot. We will have a picnic in the crater, after which we will return to Arusha where our service will end.
