After lunch, we head to Lake Manyara National Park. This impressive park is one of the most spectacular wildlife areas in Tanzania, consisting of a massive but shallow soda lake (covering two thirds of the park) at the foot of the western escarpment of the Great Rift Valley. The park's varied habitat attracts a wide variety of animals, including one of the largest concentrations of African elephants, the famous tree-climbing lions of Manyara, as well as large flocks of flamingos attracted by the lake's algae. Dinner and overnight according to the standard and type of accommodation requested.
day 2
Lake Manyara, at the Ngorongoro Crater, return to Arusha.Distance: 60 km & 190 km After breakfast, we descend 600 m into this magnificent crater for a half-day morning safari. The Ngorongoro Crater is one of the most densely populated African wilderness areas in the world and is home to about 30,000 animals, including some of Tanzania's last black rhinos. Supported by a year-round supply of water and forage, the Ngorongoro National Park is home to a wide variety of animals, including herds of wildebeest, zebras, buffaloes, elands, warthogs, hippos, and giant African elephants. Another trump card of this picturesque national park is the dense population of predators, including lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs, and the ever-elusive leopard, which sometimes requires a trained eye to spot. We will have a picnic in the crater, after which we will return to Arusha where our service will end.
