day 1
Serengeti National ParkAfter an early breakfast, you will leave Arusha heading towards the world's most famous national park, the Serengeti. The road itself, although long, is spectacular. You will climb the highlands of the crater, stopping briefly at the edge of the Ngorongoro Crater for an exceptional view. It will be an unforgettable moment for all those seeing it for the first time. As you progress into the Serengeti, you will understand why the name means, in the local language, "endless plains." The park covers 18,000 km² and, over most of its area, the plains stretch to the horizon, challenging your senses and your perception of distance. This is the place of the great migration and its 2 million wildebeest, its hundreds of thousands of zebras, and all kinds of antelopes, including the abundant impalas and Thomson's gazelles. As for the big cats and major predators, this is the prime spot to observe lions, cheetahs, leopards, and hyenas. Accommodation: Acacia Central Camp Mid-range tented camp located inside central Serengeti.
day 2
Serengeti National Park to Ngorongoro CraterOn that day, we advise you to get up very early in order to go on a morning safari (when the animals are more active) and to witness one of the most beautiful sunrises you will ever see. After the safari, we will return to the camp for a hearty brunch, then head towards Ngorongoro, the eighth wonder of the natural world. The crater covers 102 square miles and has 2,000-foot-high walls, making it practically Noah's Ark and home to almost every species of wildlife and flora native to East Africa. It is one of the few places on the continent where you can see the black rhinoceros. The concentration of African wildlife here is the highest on the continent. The crater has a river, several swamps, a soda lake with a large concentration of pink flamingos, a forest, and open plains. It is also famous for its elephants, which are the largest in the world and have enormous tusks. This is due to the mineral-rich volcanic soil and its grasses. Accommodation: Marera Valley Lodge Mid-range tented camp located just outside the Ngorongoro Crater (Karatu Highlands).
day 3
Ngorongoro CraterWe will start the day very early and descend into the bottom of the crater for an incredible morning of wildlife viewing in one of the most amazing places on the planet. After the safari, we will have time for a picnic near the beautiful Hippo Lake. After lunch, we will have time for a short safari, then we will ascend the crater and leave the Ngorongoro Conservation Area heading towards Arusha. We plan to be back in Arusha around 5 p.m., although we are flexible in case there is a flight to catch or another situation. Accommodation: No accommodation (end of the tour)
