Trip Description

The 7-day Marrakech Sahara tour is a way to discover some of the special destinations in southern Morocco. First, you cross the High Atlas mountains from Marrakech and enjoy its beautiful views. Next, you move on to explore the fascinating Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou. In addition, you will discover the Atlas studios of Ouarzazate and the Kasbah. Secondly, you will pass through Skoura to arrive at Boumalne Dadès, where you will spend the night. The next day, you will pass through the gorges of Tinghir and Todgha to arrive at Merzouga and spend the night in a local riad or hotel. On the third day, you will explore some of Merzouga's special attractions, such as the village of Khamlia, the nomads, and many other things. On the fourth day of our Marrakech Sahara tour, you will cross Errachidia to arrive at the Ziz valley. The latter is one of the major sources of dates in Morocco. You will take some photos, then pass through Tizi N'Tlghamt to arrive at Midelt, where you will spend the night. On the fifth day, we will head to Fes and explore it. Finally, join Marrakech by the Great Road, where our journey ends.

    The first day of our 7-day tour in the Sahara Desert from Marrakech begins with your accommodation in Marrakech. A tour around some of Morocco's special destinations. The first for today will be the kasbah of Ait Benhaddou. On the way, you will discover the beauty of the Atlas Mountains via the Tizi-n-Tichka road, at an altitude of 2260 m. You will enjoy charming views, valleys, oases, mountains, and Berber villages. In addition, we will stop so you have the chance to take great photos. Arrival at the World Heritage site of the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou. This place belonged to one of the most important families between the 16th and 17th centuries, "the Glaoui family." It is also a place that has attracted many filmmakers. They shot some movies there, such as "Jesus of Nazareth." Lunch is planned so you can enjoy it in this historic district. After a peaceful stay, we will resume our visit to Ouarzazate to explore one of the region's historic kasbahs, the Kasbah of Taourirt. Next, we will visit the city of roses and its valley. Finally, passing through the small Berber villages of Skoura, we will stop at Boumalne Dadès, where you will enjoy a traditional dinner and spend the night in a local riad.

    The second day of our Marrakech-Sahara tour begins after breakfast in the beautiful city of Boumalne. Today, we will head towards a special destination: the magnificent Merzouga. Passing through Tinghir, we will visit the Todra Gorges, the narrowest and highest spectacular gorges in Morocco. A unique place, recognized worldwide as one of the most spectacular canyons in the world. After a peaceful stay, we will continue to the famous city of Rissani, where you will taste the traditional Berber pizza for lunch. Then, after the meal, we will continue towards our unique destination. Upon arrival in Merzouga, your driver will take you to the hotel where you will spend the night.

    On the third day of our 7-day Marrakech Sahara itinerary, your driver will pick you up at your hotel to start the tour. What makes this day special is that you will discover life in the desert and get to know the culture better. To sum up, the first thing you will see is the National Automobile Museum. Secondly, you will move on to see a Berber village they call "Khamlia." This small village is where most of the people who have immigrated from other African countries like "Gabon" live. You will be able to taste their tea and also listen to the music they call "Gnaoua." After discovering their history, you will head to a very beautiful place near the Algerian borders. Moreover, this area is where a Kohl mine is located. Thirdly, your driver will take you this time to discover the life of the nomads. These people live about 20 km from the borders; you will get to know all the parts of their tents, discover where they cook and what they use for transportation. Then, your driver will show you where the best food is. After lunch, you will move on to see the oasis, where the farmlands are. In addition, you will see the water system in the region. Finally, it's time for the camel ride. Your driver will take you there and the camels will lead you to the camp. You will also admire the magnificent sunset on the way. After the camel ride, you will be welcomed at the camp with tea. More importantly, after dinner, they will play their music under the starry sky.

    The fourth day of the Marrakech Sahara tour begins after a calm and relaxing night. We recommend getting up early so you don't miss the sunrise. In addition, breakfast will be served at the camp or back at the hotel. We will cross the High Atlas mountains again. You will have the chance to admire the magnificent views of the Ziz gorges and the valley. After taking some photos on site, you will take the Tizi Ntlghamt road, where the most beautiful panoramas can be found. After about 40 minutes, you will arrive in Midelt, where you will have lunch and spend the night.

    The fifth day of our 7-day itinerary from the Sahara Desert to Marrakech begins with crossing the Middle Atlas mountains this time. You will be able to see the city of Timhdite and meet the Berber people. In addition, you will notice how green the mountains are and how fertile the farmland is. Secondly, from there, you will cross the cedar forest of Ifrane. Your driver will stop to allow you to take photos with the Barbary macaque monkeys and feed them. Finally, after 10 minutes, you will arrive in Ifrane. This city is also called the "Switzerland of Morocco" because of its remarkable cleanliness. After discovering the city, you will head to Fes, where you will spend the night in a riad.
