Nairobi and immediate departure to the Masai MaraWelcome at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport by your French-speaking driver-guide and immediate departure to the Maasai Mara reserve, the most famous in Kenya. A must-see! Upon our arrival at the camp, we have lunch before heading out for a first safari in the Masai Mara to discover the impressive spectacle of wildlife: lions, leopards, elephants, buffaloes, wildebeests, zebras, hippos, giraffes, and antelopes will be there. Mara Springs Camp is a camp strategically positioned at the foot of the Naunare hills, in a prime viewing area, with spectacular scenery along the wooded banks of the Sekenani River. day 2
Masai MaraAfter breakfast, we leave for a full day safari in the Masai Mara reserve. Magnificent landscapes mixing plains and hills, an abundance of animals and spectacular scenes of wildlife, as well as skies often torn at the end of the day, delight photographers! And, of course, from early July to mid-October, the great migration with its millions of wildebeest and zebras. Quite simply a magical spectacle! This reserve needs no lengthy descriptions and speaks for itself! Picnic lunch in the reserve at midday. Return for dinner and overnight at Mara Springs Camp. day 3
Masai Mara - Morijo (4h00 by road, excluding stops)After breakfast, transfer to Loita at Morijo, a plain overlooking hills. Upon arrival at Morijo Camp, we have lunch and settle into the tents. Then, we meet the team of Maasai guides and set off for a first hike towards the Loita forest. During this walk, it is possible to observe many birds and colobus monkeys, marking the start of a magical and enriching experience. As you will discover, the Maasai guides have preserved their traditional culture, which is largely based on the raising of their cattle, which they adore and know perfectly. As an anecdote, each cow has its own distinction, and each Maasai clan has its own decorations. The life of the warriors evolves from one initiation passage to another. They will give you amazing demonstrations of their different dances and songs, which are very often improvised from a theme. Return to camp for dinner. Night at Morijo Camp. Morijo - Olasur (about 4h00 of hiking)After breakfast, we set off for a 4-hour walk towards Olasur. Picnic lunch en route. We will encounter incredible and omnipresent wildlife along our way. The tops of the green hills are often clear and thus offer excellent viewpoints over the surrounding peaks. Upon arrival in Olasur, we settle into the tents. Dinner and overnight at the campsite. Olasur - Engarenanyuki (about 4h00 of hiking)After our breakfast in the Loita plains, our Maasai naturalist guides will introduce us to the herbs and plants they still use today for healing. Our guides, traditional Maasai warriors, possess excellent knowledge of wildlife. They have coexisted with wild animals since time immemorial in a natural balance. Then, we set off for a walk towards Engarenanyuki, the highest point in the Loita. Picnic lunch en route with breathtaking panoramic views. Arrival and settling into the tents. Engarenanyuki - Tiamanagen (4h30 hike)After breakfast, we set off for a 4h30 hike towards Tiamanagen. day 8
Enchoronaibor - Nairobi (5h00 drive excluding breaks)After breakfast, we leave for a final early morning photo safari hike. Then, return to Nairobi. We will make a picnic stop on the way for lunch. Upon your arrival in Nairobi, enjoy a moment of rest in a room at the Tamarind Tree Hotel and a massage.
