  • day 1

    Abidjan

    Welcome at Abidjan airport and transfer to the hotel. Dinner in a maquis and overnight stay.

  • day 2

    Abidjan - Yamoussoukro

    You will discover the Plateau, Abidjan’s business center, with its high-rise buildings; Adjamé, a large working-class district, and its astonishing market; an incursion into the Banco forest, with its multiple tropical species, and its surprising washers (FANIKO). Lunch at the OBV maquis in Yopougon, then continuation to AHOUAKRO for an exploration of the archaeological park. Guided tour in a wonderful setting (traces of life, unique plant species, stacked rocks and traditional sanctuary, etc.). Continuation of our route and arrival in Yamoussoukro. Check-in at the hotel, dinner at the foot of the lake.

  • day 3

    Yamoussoukro and its surroundings

    In the morning, we will show you a typical Baoulé village (ethnic group of the region), ZATTA. Accompanied by the village children, we will go to meet the inhabitants, then we will continue with a visit to coffee and cocoa plantations, the country’s main resources. Guided tour of the Basilica of Our Lady of Peace (the largest in the world), lunch at the La Brise maquis, visit to the Houphouët-Boigny Foundation, to the mosque of the lake with crocodiles. Return to the hotel, swimming pool available. Dinner and overnight stay.

  • day 4

    Yamoussoukro - Korhogo

    Departure for Korhogo, in Sénoufo country. On the way, visit of the Baoulé weavers settled along the road. As an option, presentation of the ritual dance of the GOLI Masks (1 hour performance) on the village square. Visit of the pottery center of the women of Katiola. Lunch, then continuation to Korhogo. Arrival and check-in at the hotel, dinner and overnight stay.

  • day 5

    Korhogo and surroundings

    The Senoufo people are very attached to their traditions and customs; our route will lead us to this encounter. Departure for NIOFOIN, a typical village with its fetish huts. In the alleys of this village, we will be followed by children. Visit on the way to SHEILOW, a place of worship. Visit to a shea butter production, cotton plantations and cashew nut plantations, the main crops of the region. Presentation of the tribal dance “Le poro” (panther dance). Return in the evening and overnight stay.

  • day 6

    Korhogo and surroundings

    In the morning, departure for FAKAHA, village of canvas painters, in the footsteps of the famous PABLO PICASSO, who went there three times. Visit of a Peulh village. Detour to KAPELE, to the bead makers. Visit of the handicrafts and antiques center. At the highest point of the city, we will climb Mount Korhogo. Return, dinner and overnight stay.

  • day 7

    Korhogo - Abidjan - Bassam

    Morning departure for Grand-Bassam, a town on the edge of the Atlantic Ocean. There you will discover a scent of the past thanks to the colonial houses. Check-in at the hotel by the sea.

  • day 8

    Bassam - Abidjan

    Continuation of the visits, passing through the fishermen’s village and discovering the fish-smoking methods used by the women. Visit to a pineapple plantation and tasting. Relaxation and swimming. Transfer in the late afternoon to the airport. End of stay.
