Trip Description

6-day tour departing from Santiago to discover the breathtaking beauties of Torres del Paine National Park, nicknamed "The Eighth Wonder of the World," as well as the impressive colony of Magellanic penguins in the strait of the same name. Torres del Paine is the jewel of Patagonia. A majestic site where the beauty of nature is expressed in all its force, both harsh and stunning. From the immense granite walls of the three Towers that give the park its name to the imposing Grey Lake glacier, passing by powerful waterfalls, lakes of all colors, and a rich and varied fauna (guanacos, condors, rheas, pumas...), this national park at the end of the world is a must-see for nature and mountain lovers. You will also be able to spend two nights at the southern entrance of the National Park, in the village of Rio Serrano, in the midst of wild nature. Then, on Magdalena Island, thousands of Magellanic penguins will welcome you. Curious by nature, they do not hesitate to approach humans and are therefore very easy to observe up close. Next, you can enjoy the sea lion colony on neighboring Marta Island, before returning to Punta Arenas. And if you are lucky, you might even spot dolphins and whales during the journey through the Strait of Magellan.

day 1
From Santiago to Puerto Natales
- Flight Santiago / Punta Arenas, then transfer to the small town of Puerto Natales (3h drive), gateway to the wonders of Patagonia. - Night in hotel in Puerto Natales.
day 2
The greatest sites of Torres del Paine
- A full-day excursion to discover all the main sites of the national park: the Torres, the Salto Grande waterfall, the magnificent peaks of the Cuernos del Paine (the ones you may have seen on many travel guide covers), the superb Nordenskjöld and Pehoe lakes, among others... - Overnight stay in a hotel in Rio Serrano, near the southern entrance of the national park, with dinner included.
day 3
Trekking Las Torres
- A one-day trek to reach the base of the three Torres, impressive granite walls several hundred meters high. This is a not very technical but long excursion, which requires good physical condition. We can organize another easier trek according to your abilities and preferences. - Night in a hotel in Rio Serrano, near the southern entrance of the national park, with dinner included.

Navigation to Grey Glacier - Return to Punta Arenas
- In the morning, catamaran navigation on Lake Grey to the foot of the glacier of the same name, an impressive mass of ice whose main part stretches over several kilometers wide and 30 meters high. You will encounter many icebergs drifting on the lake, some of considerable size. - In the afternoon, transfer to Punta Arenas. - Night in a hotel in Punta Arenas.

Discovering the Magellanic penguins
- Half-day navigation to Magdalena and Marta islands, on the Strait of Magellan. The first is home to one of the largest penguin colonies in the world: the small Magellanic penguins, which migrate there by the thousands in spring-summer. You will be able to observe them very closely in their natural habitat, before returning to sea to approach the sea lion colony on Marta island. - Free afternoon in Punta Arenas. - Overnight at a hotel in Punta Arenas.
