Trip Description

A guided Royal Enfield motorcycle tour through the most beautiful valleys of Mustang, offering spectacular views of the mountains and the ethnic cultures of Nepal. We start with a ride in Pokhara, the most relaxing lakeside city in Nepal. We then cross the picturesque countryside and take the recently built dirt road along the most popular trekking trail of the Annapurna, to arrive at Tatopani. The mountain views are breathtaking, and the landscape as well as the structure of the houses will make you feel like you are in Tibet and not in Nepal. We explore the Muktinath region at an altitude of 3800 m and the surrounding monasteries, then take the same route back.

  • day 2

From Kathmandu to Pokhara (200 km)

De Katmandou à Pokhara (200 km)

Nice ride on the road. Lunch on the way on the road. A watchful eye and alert driving are essential on this chaotic road, until we finally reach the city with its narrow but lively streets. Once in Pokhara, check-in at the hotel. You can take a walk in the evening around the lake and relax in one of the restaurants overlooking the lake. Night at the hotel.

  • day 3

From Pokhara to Tatopani (105 km)

De Pokhara à Tatopani (105 Km)

We leave Pokhara on a Royal Enfield towards Beni: 80 km on a road in perfect condition, also served by regular buses going to Beni. However, the road from Beni to Tatopani is a bit more difficult. No problem if there is no rain, but in that case, the road becomes muddy. At least, the whole road is more or less at the same level, so no climbing. But it's still an adventurous ride, that's for sure. We ride more slowly on the dirt road and stop in many beautiful places to take photos or simply rest and enjoy the landscapes that unfold before our eyes. In Tatopani, have your ACAP permit stamped and check in at the hotel. Enjoy the natural hot spring by the Kali Gandaki river in the evening. Night in Tatopani.

  • day 4

From Tatopani to Tukuche (35 km)

De Tatopani à Tukuche (35 Km)

From Tatopani to Ghasa: 13 km This is a landslide risk area, and riding a motorcycle can be quite demanding, especially over the last 5 kilometers before reaching Ghasa. Even after the rain has stopped, mudslides can occur. There are always heavy machines on site to keep traffic flowing smoothly. The last 5 kilometers are quite tough, with large rocks blocking the way. From Ghasa to Kalapani: 14 km This section of the road has the most complicated passages; on your right is a precipice. Close-up view of Annapurna, one of the most difficult 8,000 m peaks in the world. From Kobang to Tukuche: 8 km Motorcycle ride between two icy 8,000-meter peaks. You will now ride on a road passing between two 8,000 m peaks. A river crosses a wide suspension bridge, and once again, spectacular photo sessions of the icy peaks of giants: there will be enough time to take pictures. If the weather allows, we will have the chance to take a short hike with a superb view of Dhaulagiri. Overnight in Tukuche.

  • day 5

From Tukuche to Muktinath (31 km)

    De Tukuche à Muktinath (31km)

From Tukuche - Jomsom 12 km Easy motorcycle ride from Tukuche to Jomsom. No steep slopes or missing tarmac, the road is passable. However, we do encounter a few small river crossings. Hard to believe, but there is a small airport in Jomsom. It's quite impressive to see the small planes take off. Jomsom is the largest town in Mustang and is full of cafés and hotels. We leave Jomsom and continue our journey through the winding streams. From Jomsom - Muktinath 19 km - Spectacular view of Dhaulagiri The environment becomes sparse and more threatening. We are no longer in the deepest gorges in the world, but we are navigating at the top of the highest mountain range in the world. The landscape becomes more and more spectacular. We continue our ride and cross the famous Kali Gandaki river on a small suspension bridge. As we pass the riverbed and begin our ascent to Muktinath, the magnificent lunar landscape of Mustang unfolds in a series of treeless hills. Upon our arrival in Muktinath, we settle into the hotel. The views are incredible from the roof. We will go for a walk in the evening in town and, why not, in the small souvenir shops. Night at the hotel.
