The Everest foothills camping trek takes you on a 6-day adventure in the green foothills below Mount Everest. If it is your first time trekking in Nepal, this is a great opportunity to do an easy trek with spectacular views of the entire Himalayan range from East to West in Nepal. Though famous for offering the best view of Mount Everest according to Sir Edmund Hillary, this off the beaten track route is little used by trekkers, and you will have the trails to yourself. Nights will be spent in the comfort of our exclusive camp.

Trip Description

The Pikey Peak trek is a popular, short trekking route in Nepal's lower Everest region. While it was once primarily a camping trek, most trekking companies now offer a "teahouse trek" experience with accommodation in lodges and guesthouses, but we choose the different trail where there are fewer crowds of people, and you can have your own privacy in the mountains and have a luxury camping experience. Here are some of the key highlights and activities you can expect to be provided by us on a Pikey Peak trip: Highlights: • Breathtaking Panoramic Everest Mountain Views: The primary draw of the trek is the stunning 360-degree sunrise and sunset views from Pikey Peak. On a clear day, you can see a vast stretch of the Himalayas, including Mt. Everest, Makalu, Kanchenjunga, Lhotse, and other prominent peaks like Ama Dablam and Gaurishankar. • Cultural Immersion: The trek takes you through traditional Sherpa, Rai, Limbu, and Tamang villages. You get a firsthand look at their daily lives, customs, and unique hospitality. • Tranquil, Less Crowded Trails: Unlike the more popular Everest Base Camp trek, the Pikey Peak route is known for being quiet and peaceful, offering a serene trekking experience away from the crowds. • Diverse Landscapes: The trail passes through a variety of ecosystems, from lush valleys and terraced farmlands to dense rhododendron and pine forests, and finally to alpine meadows. • Rich Buddhist Heritage: You will encounter numerous Buddhist landmarks along the way, including ancient monasteries, stupas, mani walls (stone walls carved with Buddhist mantras), and colorful prayer flags. Activities Provided by us: • Guided Trekking: We provide an experienced, English-speaking trekking guide and camping crew staffs which is a standard inclusion. They will lead the way, handle logistics, and provide insights into the local culture and environment. Local porters are also typically available to carry your luggage. • Accommodation and Meals: We provide spacious luxury camping tent accommodation with dining tent and campfire. This usually includes a full board plan (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) throughout the trek with unlimited tea/coffee/hot water. • Transportation: Trekking packages typically include transport from Kathmandu to the starting point of the trek (Phaplu) and back, either by private vehicle, shared jeep, or sometimes a domestic flight (chartered helicopter on request to avoid the long drive). • Cultural Excursions: Guides will often take you to visit local monasteries, such as the Thupten Chholing Monastery, and may facilitate interactions with local families. Some trips might even include opportunities to witness cultural performances in villages like Jhapre, Phaplu, Junbesi. • Sunrise/Sunset Viewing: A key part of the experience is an early morning hike from Pikey Peak Base Camp to the summit to witness the sunrise over the Himalayas and also along the trail. The views are amazing from different camping spots where we select each day. FYI: Minimum 4 people is required to operate the camping trek on the mentioned price, if there are fewer people, the price will be slightly high.
