  SJO Int. Airport - Alajuela (15 min)

  

  We will welcome you at the airport before taking you to your first accommodation, located in the city of Alajuela. This short trip will allow us to give you your travel diary as well as your local SIM card. 1 night in Alajuela.

• day 2

  Alajuela - Bajos del Toro (1h30)

  

  After picking up your rental vehicle or meeting your private driver-guide, you will head to the Bajos del Toro region. In the afternoon, a hike will take you to one of the most beautiful waterfalls in the country, with turquoise blue waters. 1 night in Bajos del Toro.

  Bajos del Toro - Caño Negro (2h30)

  

  Departure for the Caño Negro National Wildlife Refuge. At nightfall, a naturalist guide will accompany you on a night walk in the territory of the jaguar. 2 nights in Caño Negro.

• day 4

  Cano Negro

  

  In the early morning, set off with your guide to discover the amazing wildlife and flora of this wet region in the north of the country.

• day 5

  Caño Negro - Monteverde (3h30)

  

  Departure for the Monteverde region, renowned for preserving one of the last primary cloud forests in the world. This forest alone is home to 2.5% of the planet's biodiversity! 2 nights in Monteverde.

  Monteverde

  

  In the early morning, a guided tour of a reserve is organized to help you discover the natural history of the region. In the afternoon, a walk on suspension bridges will allow you to observe this exuberant biodiversity up close.

  Monteverde - Uvita (3h30)

  

  Departure for the Pacific coast and its paradise beaches, a perfect destination to relax after this first week of discoveries. 2 nights in Uvita.

  Day in Marino Ballena National Park to discover the terrestrial and marine ecosystems of the South Pacific region.

  Uvita - Sierpe - Drake (2h30)

  

  Early departure for Sierpe, where you will leave your vehicle in a supervised parking lot before boarding for Drake. This one-hour boat trip is an integral part of the adventure, as it allows you to discover the Térraba-Sierpe wetland area. 3 nights in Drake.

  Drake - Corcovado

  

  Full-day guided hike in Corcovado National Park, world-famous for hosting 2.5% of the planet's biodiversity on its own. Scarlet macaws, tapirs, monkeys, reptiles, and many other species can be easily observed there.

• day 11

  Drake - Isla del Caño

  

  Embark towards the Isla del Caño Biological Reserve, where you will go snorkeling in crystal-clear water. This idyllic setting is ideal for observing the South Pacific marine ecosystem. On the way back, a tropical picnic under the coconut trees is organized on a beach.

• day 12

  Drake - Sierpe - Orosi (5h00)

  

  Early departure for Sierpe, pick up the vehicle and depart for Orosi in the central valley. At more than 3200 m altitude, you will cross the Cerro de la Muerte pass, offering splendid landscapes. 3 nights in Orosi.

  Visit to an ecological farm in Orosi, where one of the best coffees in the world is produced.

  Orosi - Irazú Volcano (3h00 AR)

  

  Morning visit to Irazú Volcano National Park, the highest active volcano in the country. An afternoon of relaxation is planned in the Orosi hot springs.

  Orosi - Cahuita (3h30)

  

  Departure for the Caribbean coast, splendid for its biodiversity and its culture. 4 nights in Cahuita.

  Day in Cahuita National Park, a paradise-like place to discover the region's fauna and flora.

  Cahuita - Puerto Viejo (30 min RT)

  

  Free day to discover the city of Puerto Viejo de Talamanca, enjoy some relaxation and, why not, try surfing on the surrounding beaches?

  Cahuita - Yorkin (2h)

  

  End your vacation on a high note by meeting the Bribrí natives. An adventure out of time where you will discover the ancestral traditions of this minority ethnic group.

  Cahuita - San José (3h30)

  

  Return to San José, where you will spend your last night downtown, near historical monuments worth visiting, such as the National Theatre. 1 night in San José.

  San José - Int. Airport SJO (1 h)

  

  Departure for the international airport, return of the rental vehicle or farewell with your driver-guide, and check-in for international flights. Pura Vida!
