• day 1

  Ilinizas – El Chaupi – Ilinizas Reserve

  Welcome to Ecuador! In the morning, we will start our first walk from the Papagayo Hosteria (3200 m) to reach the "Virgen" in the Ilinizas (3900 m). This trek will take us to the typical village of El Chaupi, then to the Andean páramo and the primary forest of the Ilinizas reserve. At the end of the day, we will settle into our camp. Trek distance: 14 km Elevation gain: +800 meters Meals included: BL/D

• day 2

  Boliche – Cotopaxi National Park - Pan-American

  In the morning, we will start our second trek, this time at a lower altitude. After breakfast, we will walk towards the Boliche area, which is located next to Cotopaxi National Park. This trek will be a mix of no man's land and crossings of small Indian villages, where you can enjoy the local population. We will also cross the Pan-American highway that day. Trek distance: 15 km Elevation change: -400 meters Meals included: B/BL/D

• day 3

  Cotopaxi National Park – Rumiñahui – Limpiopungo Lagoon

  After the ascent, we will enjoy the beautiful sunrise, prepare breakfast, and pack up the camping equipment. Then, we will continue along the path towards Cotopaxi National Park: through the water channel, on the slopes of Rumiñahui, then we will continue our route towards Laguna Limpiopungo (3800 m). At Limpiopungo Lake, we will continue towards the Rinconada campsite. In the evening, you can take a walk around the lake, where you will have the opportunity to observe birds such as gulls, ducks, and other species. • day 4

  Cotopaxi - Refuge

  After breakfast, we collect the camping equipment. From there, we will continue our last (but not least!) trek. This last day, the most difficult, will take us to the gigantic Cotopaxi volcano. Leaving from the Rinconada campsite, we will climb up to the refuge where our adventure will end. From there, a car will come to pick you up and take you back to Papagayo Hosteria.
