Route to Cachi: Los Cardones National ParkPick up your rental car for the next few days. Vehicle type Chevrolet Tracker, Volkswagen Taos or similar. You head towards Cachi, a charming Andean village nestled at 2,280 meters above sea level. The journey, about 160 km (around 4 to 5 hours of driving depending on stops), is one of the most spectacular in northern Argentina. You will take the RN 33, which crosses the Lerma Valley before climbing the famous Cuesta del Obispo, a winding road offering breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains. You will pass the highest point at Piedra del Molino (3,348 m), before crossing Los Cardones National Park, a vast plain populated with giant cacti and framed by colorful peaks. Along the way, several viewpoints allow you to admire the landscape and take beautiful photos. Arrival in Cachi at the end of the day, with its white houses, cobbled streets, and peaceful atmosphere at the foot of the Nevado de Cachi.

Route 40 between Cachi and CafayateAfter exploring Cachi, take the dirt road that connects this Andean village to Cafayate, in the province of Salta. This 150 km journey (about 4 to 5 hours of driving) immerses you in one of the wildest and most isolated landscapes of the region. The road is entirely unpaved, with steeper and winding sections, so be prepared for a slightly more adventurous drive. Along the way, you will pass through impressive canyons and colorful geological formations, such as the Quebrada de las Flechas, where jagged rock spires seem to pierce the sky. The road also crosses valleys, semi-desert areas, and offers spectacular views of the surrounding mountains. This route will allow you to admire the untouched beauty of nature and experience the true heart of Argentina before arriving in Cafayate, famous for its vineyards and calm atmosphere.

Cultural immersion in the Calchaquí ValleysOn that day, you will meet a local community in the Calchaquies Valleys. There are several communities that open their doors to welcome travelers. You can choose between two different communities (otherwise, it will be random according to the work community system). DIVISADERO: Just 6 km from Cafayate, you will find a small community that will welcome you in the evening, called Divisadero. You will stay with one of the three local families. The houses are located 100-200 meters from each other. It is a beautiful community nestled on the banks of the Lorohuasi river, from where you can admire the magnificence of the valley and the endless colors that emanate from the vineyards and surrounding hills. Here, you will visit a small artisanal winery with rural activities (depending on the season: pruning, harvest, etc., or activities in the winery: bottling, etc.). You can take a walk with the host family to the indigenous mortars, through the crops or to rock paintings. There will also be a cooking workshop. Activities last about 3 hours. CORRALITO: The local community of Corralito is located 30 km from Cafayate. A valley community, full of history and tradition. You will visit a typical valley farm and, depending on the season, you can harvest fruits and vegetables that will be used to prepare lunch (included). We offer a walk through ancient vineyards accompanied by stories of the region, or a hike to Los Colorados with a member of the community. You can also discover the 1880 church and the history of the carnival. You will also have the opportunity to do pottery. Activities last about 3 hours. There is only one house in this locality. If you wish to go horseback riding, this is possible with an extra charge (please let us know in advance so we can inform the host family). In both cases, all meals are included and homemade. Quebrada de las ConchasDuring the journey from Cafayate to Salta along Route 68, you will have the opportunity to explore and marvel at the Quebrada de las Conchas, also known as the Quebrada de Cafayate. This is a natural reserve located in the province of Salta, famous for its rock formations and spectacular landscapes. As you go deeper into the Quebrada de las Conchas, you will witness incredible geological formations sculpted by erosion over millions of years. Among the most remarkable formations are the Amphitheater, a rock formation in the shape of a natural amphitheater with impressive acoustics, and The Castles, a series of formations that resemble a gigantic sandcastle. You can also admire the Garganta del Diablo, a narrow gorge carved by a river with turquoise waters, as well as the Mirador de Tres Cruces, from where you can enjoy an impressive panoramic view of the quebrada. Throughout this section of the road, you will find several points of interest where you can stop, explore, and take photos of these unique landscapes. The Quebrada de las Conchas is a perfect place to connect with nature, appreciate the beauty of the landscape, and enjoy an unforgettable scenic journey. You can make stops in charming villages like Alemania, where you can admire its colonial church and cobbled streets. Upon arriving in Purmamarca, you will discover a village full of charm and character. Known for its famous Hill of Seven Colors and its lively craft market, Purmamarca will captivate you with its beauty and welcoming atmosphere. Stroll through the picturesque cobbled streets, admire the traditional architecture, and immerse yourself in the rich culture of the region. After exploring Purmamarca, you can set out towards the Salinas Grandes via the impressive Cuesta del Lipán. This road will lead you through spectacular landscapes, with panoramic views of steep mountains and deep valleys. The Cuesta del Lipán reaches its maximum height at over 4,000 meters above sea level, giving you the opportunity to experience the magnificence of the Argentine Andes from above. Get ready to enjoy the feeling of being on top of the world while contemplating the endless landscapes stretching out before you. After visiting the Salinas Grandes, return to Purmamarca to enjoy a relaxing afternoon in this charming village. Discovering the Quebrada de HumahuacaWake up facing the magnificent Cerro de los Siete Colores (the "Mountain of 7 Colors"). You set off along the Quebrada de Humahuaca and its small villages, this spectacular valley listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You will discover the curiosities and colorful markets of each small village, especially those of Tilcara and the Pucará (archaeological site), then the village of Humahuaca. The small town of Tilcara awaits you and will amaze you with its picturesque and unique streets. Tilcara is a lively town, with a variety of cultural and recreational options, even though it has only 7,000 inhabitants. Tilcara has always been a place for meetings and cultural exchanges. As a north-south and east-west axis of pre-Inca and colonial routes, different cultural groups used this route from east to west to exchange products from the jungle and the Pacific, while the north-south route, called the royal road, mainly transported products to Potosí and its inexhaustible silver mine. Tilcara is without a doubt one of the most visited tourist destinations in northern Argentina. The Quebrada de Humahuaca was also the former royal road during the colonial period, through which one reached southern Bolivia and its rich silver mine of Potosí. The Quebrada de Humahuaca has been declared a natural and cultural heritage of humanity by UNESCO for the beauty of its landscapes and its 11,000 years of history, ranging from hunter-gatherers to the Inca or indigenous Hispanic period. At the end of the afternoon, you return to Purmamarca to spend the night in your hotel. Route to BoliviaPrivate service route: Purmamarca to La Quiaca & La Quiaca to Uyuni For this adventure in private service, you will leave Purmamarca, with its impressively colored mountains, to head towards La Quiaca, about 150 km away (around 3 hours by road). Accompanied by a local driver, you will cross magnificent Andean landscapes, skirting valleys and mountains. This stage does not require a guide, but the driver will accompany you throughout the journey, offering practical information and total comfort. Once in La Quiaca, you will cross the Argentine border and will need to change vehicles to continue your journey to Uyuni in Bolivia. The trip from La Quiaca to Uyuni (about 200 km, or 4 to 5 hours by road) will also be in a private vehicle, with a new local driver. This passage into Bolivian territory will take you through desert landscapes and wild expanses before reaching the city of Uyuni, the gateway to the famous Salar de Uyuni. The vehicle change at the border is necessary due to differences in regulations and road conditions between the two countries, but it will in no way affect the comfort and smoothness of your trip. Exploration day on the Salar de UyuniAt 10:30 am, we begin this unforgettable day with a visit to the Uyuni train cemetery, a place full of history where old locomotives rest abandoned in the middle of the desert, remnants of the region's railway past. We then continue to Colchani, a small village located at the gateway to the salt flat. Here, you will discover the artisanal process of salt extraction, as well as a local market offering typical products such as llama and alpaca wool fabrics, colorful ponchos, traditional hats, and other items made by local artisans. Upon entering the Salar de Uyuni, you will be able to observe the famous salt mounds, the "saltwater eyes" (small pockets of underground water), the Dakar Rally monument, as well as the square of world flags. We will also visit the first salt hotel, now transformed into a museum-restaurant, where lunch will be served if the weather is cold or windy. If the weather permits, the picnic lunch will take place in the heart of the salt flat, set up on brightly colored tablecloths and comfortable cushions, for a break that is as delicious as it is visually unforgettable. In the afternoon, you will visit the famous Incahuasi Island, a volcanic islet covered with giant cacti, some of which reach over 10 meters high. A short hike will take you to the top of the island, where you will enjoy an impressive panoramic view of the vast white expanse of the salt flat. On the way back, we will make several stops to take perspective photos and videos, a fun and unique experience that only this place can offer. At the end of the day, we continue to the community of Colcha K or San Juan, where you will spend the night in double, triple, or matrimonial rooms, in simple but warm accommodation, for a first night of immersion in the South Lipez region. Volcanoes, Andean lagoons and baths under the starsThe day begins at 8:00 am, after breakfast. We will head towards the Ollague volcano viewpoint (5,865 m altitude), an active volcano where you can observe fumaroles escaping from the crater. Continuing our journey across the Altiplano, we will discover several spectacular Andean lagoons: Laguna Cañapa, Laguna Hedionda, Laguna Honda, Chiarcota, and Laguna Ramaditas. These lagoons are essential feeding and resting points for many species of flamingos, especially during their migrations. We will then cross the Siloli desert, known for its unique desert landscapes and amazing rock formations, including the famous "Stone Tree," a structure sculpted by wind erosion. The adventure continues to the Laguna Colorada, one of the jewels of South Lipez, with its reddish waters rich in minerals. This lagoon marks the entrance to the Eduardo Avaroa National Reserve. At the end of the afternoon, you will have two accommodation options depending on the chosen itinerary: In Huayllajara, in a simple lodge with double, triple, or matrimonial rooms. Or, continue a little further to the Polques hot springs, where you will spend the night in similar accommodations, with the opportunity to enjoy the thermal baths several times, including at night, under a spectacular starry sky reflected in the warm waters. Surreal rocks and Andean lagoonsAfter breakfast, departure towards the Salvador Dalí rocks, surrealist formations eroded over time. We will then continue to the Licancabur volcano viewpoint, from where you will overlook the Laguna Verde, with its striking emerald reflections. The next stop will take you to the Laguna Blanca, a vast expanse of clear water nestled at the foot of the volcanoes. In the late afternoon, return towards Uyuni. Flight to La PazTransfer to Uyuni airport. You take the domestic flight to La Paz. Upon your arrival at El Alto International Airport (4,061 m altitude), your private driver will be waiting for you in the arrivals hall with a sign bearing your name. The 13 km journey to your hotel in the center of La Paz takes about 40 to 45 minutes, following winding roads that immediately offer superb views of the city and the Cordillera Real. Perched between 3,200 and 4,100 m, La Paz is the highest capital city in the world. Vibrant and full of contrasts, it combines traditional markets (including the famous Mercado de las Brujas), colonial alleys, and modern neighborhoods connected by a spectacular cable car network.

Full-day guided tour in La PazAfter being picked up at your hotel, begin discovering this spectacular city by exploring the historic center: Plaza Pedro Domingo Murillo, the Metropolitan Cathedral, the National Congress, and the Government Palace (exterior visit). Continue to the Museum of Precious Metals (closed on Mondays) to admire the gold and silver from Andean civilizations. Next, head up to the Killi Killi viewpoint, which offers a panoramic view of La Paz, its colorful neighborhoods, and the imposing snow-capped silhouette of Mount Illimani. You will also see the replica of the semi-subterranean temple of Tiwanaku, a remnant of the great pre-Columbian city. In the early afternoon, cross the southern zone, where the climate and architecture change radically, before reaching the Valley of the Moon. Here, eroded clay formations create a lunar landscape, with craters and canyons, challenging your imagination. Then it's time for urban adventure: board one of the city's cable cars to descend while flying over the hills, then finish your tour at the Witches' Market, a major site for offerings to Pachamama (Mother Earth) and Andean rituals.
