Trip Description

The trip is intended for those who enjoy light walks in nature, but who do not refuse to get to know the big cities (2 days). The trip starts in Almaty and ends in Bishkek. The reverse can also be organized. The price is 1700 euros per person, if 3 people. The price includes: French-speaking guide-driver, meals (except breakfast on day 1), entrance to national parks, entrance to museums according to the program, accommodation (10 nights). The price does not include personal expenses, alcohol, etc.

    Almaty

    Almaty

    Welcome by the guide at Almaty airport. City tour. We visit Panfilov Park with the Orthodox Cathedral of the Ascension and an area dedicated to the Second World War, not forgetting the Museum of Traditional Musical Instruments (except Monday). Next, we go to see the Green Bazaar (except Monday) where you can find local specialties: meat, dairy products, etc. Lunch. Then, we visit Republic Square with the obelisk and the bas-reliefs that are dedicated to the history of Kazakhstan. Afterwards, we can go to see Koktobe Mountain, from which there is a panoramic view of the city (the sun will be facing you at sunset). The view is especially beautiful after the rain. Dinner. Overnight at the hotel.

    Almaty - Altyn Emel - Singing Dune - village

    Almaty-Altyn Emel-Dune chantante-village

    Meeting with the guide. Departure for the Altyn Emel natural park. On the way, you can see the Kapchagai reservoir/artificial lake, which is located next to the small Kazakh Las Vegas. Arrival in the village of the park for lunch, then departure on a track towards the singing dune. Walk. Return to the village. Dinner and overnight in the guesthouse, with toilets and shower inside the building.

    Breakfast. Departure towards the colorful mountains. The road will take about 1h30, mainly on a track. Walk. Picnic lunch. Road to the petrified lava rocks. Walk. Road to the 700-year-old tree. Departure towards Jarkent, a small town on the border with China. Dinner. Night at the hotel.

    Breakfast. Departure to see the mosque in the form of a Chinese temple in a border town. Lunch en route. Drive to the valley of the castles of Charyn Canyon. Arrival. Walk. Drive to the viewpoint of the lunar canyon. Drive to the black canyon. Arrival in the village located not far from Lake Kolsay in the evening. Dinner and overnight in a guesthouse with toilets and shower inside the house.

    Breakfast. Departure by car to Lake Kaindy, in the middle of which you can see submerged tree trunks. Arrival at the parking lot. Horseback ride to the lake and from the lake. Return to the village. Lunch. Departure by car to Lake Kolsay. Walk. Return to the village. Dinner and overnight in the guesthouse.

    Breakfast. Departure towards the Kyrgyz border. Visit to the Przewalski Museum. The Prjevalski Museum is located on the shores of Lake Issyk Kul. The monument and the tomb of the famous Russian traveler are preserved in this museum. You will find research documents, notes, works, personal belongings, and travel maps there. Arrival in Karakol. Dinner. Overnight in the guesthouse.

    Today, we will head towards the Jeti Oguz gorges. The Jeti Oguz gorge is famous for its red rock formations called the Seven Bulls – Jeti Oguz. You will also see the Broken Heart mountain. We will take as many photos there as you wish. There are yurts in the gorges and people may offer you Kumis to drink. It is a national drink made from fermented mare's milk and is slightly alcoholic. Next, we continue our journey along Lake Issyk Kul and arrive at the Skazka canyon. Here, travelers can take a walk. After the walk, we continue on the road to end our day in the village of Kochkor. Dinner. Overnight in a guesthouse.

    Kochkor-Song Kul

    Departure in the morning. We are transferred to Lake Son Kul. It is located at 3013 meters above sea level and surrounded by beautiful mountains. We will pass through the Kalmak Ashuu pass (3446 m). It is an ideal place where you can discover a nomadic lifestyle and relax after urban life. Upon your arrival, you will be free to explore and enjoy the pristine nature of the lake and its surroundings. You will have dinner and spend the night in a yurt, made of a wooden frame covered with felt. Heating is also provided. Night in a yurt.

    Song Kul-Kyzyl oï

    Song Kul-Kyzyl oï

    A day dedicated to the road (mainly on tracks) to leave the lake. On the way, travelers can see the southern shore of Lake Song Kul and a coal mine during the descent. In the afternoon, arrival at the village of Kyzyl Oi to rest and walk around the village as well as on the small mountain that houses a cemetery with some interesting graves. Dinner and overnight in the guesthouse.

    Kyzyl-Oï-Suusamyr-Bishkek

    After breakfast, we head towards Bishkek. On the way, we stop in the Suusamyr valley, a popular place for cattle grazing. Lunch. Then, we continue on the road to Bishkek, which passes through the Too Achouou pass at over 3000 m. Arrival in the capital at the end of the afternoon. Check-in at the hotel. Free time.

    Bishkek

    City tour. Visit to the national museum. Lunch. Walk next to the national library, the opera, and Victory Park. Dinner.
