Our agency Terres du Népal offers you this new moderately difficult trek, which gives you the opportunity to leave the tourist trails of Nepal to venture into deep forests and cross the alpine pastures south of the Annapurnas. Most of the lodges are managed by local communities in order to fund the schools and social projects of the villages.

Stay program

  • day 1

    From Kathmandu to Pokhara

    Transfer to Pokhara by tourist bus - about 7h. (Flight on request.) Peaceful and pleasant city at the foot of the Annapurna range. Overnight at the hotel.

  • day 2

    From Pokhara to Beni

    Journey of about 3h30 from Pokhara by private vehicle to Beni, the starting point of the trek. Short walk to the small Magar village of Banskharka (1550 m), about 2h30 walk through the forest overlooking the Kali Gandaki. Homestay accommodation.

  • day 3

    Nangi

    After breakfast, departure for Nangi (2300 m). Ascent through the forest, under the gaze of Dhaulagiri. After lunch at Dandakateri, the trail levels out to reach Nangi and its terraced crops. Comfortable community lodge. 6 hours of walking.

  • day 4

    Mohare Danda

    From Nangi to Mohare Danda (3350m) Mainly walking through forest with the first 2 hours uphill. Lunch is taken as a picnic on the hillside. Mohare Danda is isolated and water resources are scarce. But the view is absolutely superb and very wide from the community lodge. Certainly one of the most beautiful panoramas in the region. 5 hours of walking.

    Swanta

    From Mohare Danda to Swanta (2300m) Day of descent mainly through the forest and some alpine pastures. 1 hour of ascent before reaching the sprawling village of Swanta via a small path. The community lodge faces Dhaulagiri. 5h30 of walking.

  • day 6

    Khopra Danda

    From Swanta to Khopra (3650 m). After an easy warm-up in the forest, the trail crosses the river via a suspension bridge and climbs up towards Chistibung. If you feel tired after 3 hours of walking, it will be possible to stay at the community lodge. Otherwise, you will need to add 3 hours and 30 minutes of ascent, sometimes quite steep, to reach the Khopra pasture, in the company of yaks. 6 hours and 30 minutes of walking.

  • day 7

    Khopra

    If you stopped at Chistibung, you can make the ascent to Khopra at your own pace. If you spent the night at the Khopra community lodge, you can take an excursion in the surrounding area. The most beautiful and the most difficult one (9 hours of walking) can take you to Khayer Lake, a Hindu pilgrimage site. Khopra embraces 3 valleys and offers a superb view, from the Daulaghiri to Annapurna South, at whose feet we stand.

    Dobato

    From Khopra to Dobato (3400m) The path descends along the hillside and the trail is sometimes very narrow before reaching Bayeli after 4 hours of walking. Add 1 hour before reaching Dobato. The rhododendrons are superb in this region. 5 hours of walking. Night in lodge.

  • day 9

    Gandrung

    From Dobato to Gandrung (1950m) In the morning, it is possible to watch the sunrise from the Muldaï viewpoint if you wish. Then, we make a long descent in the shade of the forest. In 3h30, we join the traditional tourist route at Tadapani, before descending to Gandrung, an important Gurung village with typical houses. 6h30 of walking. Night in lodge.

  • day 10

    From Gandrung to Pokhara

    From Gandrung to Pokhara. Via stone stairs, then an easy descent along the Modi Khola. End of the trek at Naya Pul. Return to Pokhara by taxi. 4h of walking. Night at the hotel.

  • day 11

    Back to Kathmandu

    From Pokhara to Kathmandu. Return to Kathmandu by tourist bus. Continuation of the stay: possibility of cultural visits in Kathmandu, hotel reservations...
