Imagine that you are pedaling through a mountain paradise over 7,000 meters high, with glaciers almost touching the road and inhabited by people so friendly that it is not uncommon for them to offer you tea as a gesture of hospitality when you stop for a break. Well, this tour offers you that and much more. The KKH is a dream journey, and our goal is to make it as easy as possible for you to discover the sights and cultures along the way. Each day is designed so you can enjoy cycling and soak in the magnificent panoramas. The duration of the tour is 16 days. Mountain biking through some of the most breathtaking mountain landscapes in the world in the Karakoram and Pamir ranges, including, weather permitting, views of: Rakaposhi 7790m, Diran 7270m, Ultar 7388m, Muztagh Ata 7546m, Kongur 7719m, and many other peaks. Meet the Tajik Hunzakut and Wakhi peoples of Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan, as well as the Sarakol Tajik, Kyrgyz, Uyghur, and Han peoples of Xinjiang, China. Discover the typically Central Asian flavor of the famous Kashgar Sunday bazaar.

    KKH Karakoram Highway Cycling Trip.

    Itinerary of the itinerary DAY 01: ARRIVAL IN ISLAMABAD Arrival at Islamabad airport and transfer to the hotel. DAY 02: ISLAMABAD - ABBOTABAD Drive to Abbotabad, then cycle to Besham. Overnight at the hotel (6 to 7 hours cycling). DAY 03: BESHAM - CHILAS Overnight at the hotel in Chilas after 8 to 10 hours of cycling. DAY 04: CHILAS - GILGIT Overnight in Gilgit at the hotel after 5 to 6 hours of cycling. DAY 05: GILGIT Rest day in Gilgit or sightseeing. Overnight at the hotel. DAY 06: GILGIT - MINAPIN Cycle to Minapin. Overnight at the hotel (5 to 6 hours cycling). DAY 07: MINAPIN - KARIMABAD Cycle to Karimabad. Overnight at the hotel (4 to 5 hours cycling). DAY 08: KARIMABAD - PASSU Cycle to Passu. Overnight at the hotel (5 to 6 hours cycling). DAY 09: PASSU - SUST Cycle to Sust. Overnight at the hotel (5 to 6 hours cycling). DAY 10: SUST - TASHKURGAN Drive and cycle to Tashkurgan in China. Overnight at the hotel. DAY 11: TASHKURGAN - KARAKUL LAKE Cycle to Karakul Lake (100 km). Overnight in a yurt. DAY 12: KARAKUL LAKE - KASHGAR Cycle to Kashgar (200 km). Overnight at the hotel. DAY 13: KASHGAR Located at the foot of the impressive Pamir mountains, Kashgar was once the main trading post linking East and West. Largely inhabited by Uyghurs, this ancient city is dotted with muslin architecture and still retains the exotic look of the Silk Road era. We will visit the bustling markets of Kashgar, which attract thousands of people from all over the region. They come here to sell, bargain, and trade everything from camels to raisins. Our guided tour will also include the Id Kha mosque and the tomb of Abjak Hoja. Our visit includes the tombs of Abakh Hoja, the famous Eidgah mosque, and the most unique old town with typical Uyghur houses. We will visit the various commercial alleys full of noodle shops, bakeries, tea houses, blacksmiths, and carpenters. Time seems to have stopped: try a local taxi, which is a donkey cart. DAY 14: KASHGAR - URUMQI Today, we will have a free day, allowing you to explore the old city of Kashgar, which is home to a fascinating mix of ethnicities - Uyghurs, Tajiks, Kyrgyz, and Uzbeks - or to visit one of the many other sites in Kashgar. In the evening, we will take a flight to Urumqi. DAY 15: URUMQI - BEIJING Return flight to Beijing. Rest of the day free at leisure. DAY 16: Departure Transfer to the airport for the return flight departing from Beijing.
