During this tour, you will discover the best of Colombia, the diversity of its landscapes, and the warmth of its people. You will be hosted by Duwi and his family in the heart of the coffee region, on a small farmer's farm, and you will finish your program in the Guajira desert, where you will be hosted by an indigenous family in the heart of the desert, for a total immersion in the Wayuu culture.

Arrival in Bogota
Bogotá is perched at 2,600 m altitude, in the heart of the Andes mountain range. With its 9,000,000 inhabitants, it is the political, economic, and cultural capital of the country. It is a cosmopolitan city with a vibrant cultural life. It is also one of the hotspots of Latin American gastronomy, where you can enjoy cuisine that traces Colombian traditions. The Candelaria district: it is a haven of peace, an island in the center of the capital, with its narrow streets perfect for strolling and its colonial buildings with a laid-back look. Visit of Bogota
Set off to discover the capital in complete freedom. A day of walking through the historic center of Bogotá. A very lively and cultural neighborhood, where many artists live. Visit the fabulous Gold Museum, the Botero Foundation, and Simon Bolivar Square. Ascend Monserrate by cable car, where you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the city of Bogotá. Salento and the Cocora Valley
Salento is a beautiful village with the typical architectural style of the coffee triangle. You will discover warm people there as well as the history of coffee cultivation. It is from Salento that excursions to the Cocora Valley depart. Private transfer from your hotel to Bogota airport and domestic flight to Pereira (1 hour flight). Private transfer to the small village of Salento (about 1 hour drive). Cocora Valley and Acaime Reserve
The Cocora Valley is a magnificent valley located in the heart of the Coffee Zone. It is home to a tree that is a symbol of Colombia and endemic to this valley: the Wax Palm, a very tall and centuries-old palm tree. You will discover this superb valley during a hike that will lead you to the Acaime reserve, where you will observe hummingbirds and enjoy a good coffee. Discovery of the culture of the coffee zone, hosted by a family of producers.
You will spend two days immersed in the daily life of a coffee-growing family, staying on a traditional farm. Duwi and his family will welcome you into their home as friends and will introduce you to their region and culture. You will discover the art of coffee cultivation, visit a traditional market, the Manizales coffee cooperative, and the small village of Cuchilla del Salado.

Discovery of the culture of the coffee zone, hosted by a family of producers.
You will go on a beautiful hike through the sumptuous and rolling landscapes of the coffee region. You will play Tejo (a kind of local pétanque) with your hosts. You will learn to cook tamal, a typical dish of the region, during a cooking workshop, and you will enjoy great moments of sharing and exchange with Duwi and her family.

Cartagena, the pearl of the Caribbean
Duwi will drive you to Pereira airport and flight to Cartagena. (1h30) Private transfer from the airport to your hotel in the historic center of Cartagena de Indias. Cartagena de Indias is a fantastic city that enchants travelers and tells them the secrets of colonial history and piracy. The many churches that stand within the old city recall the grandeur of its past history. Visit to a traditional cocoa farm and kayaking down the Rio Don Diego.
In the morning, you will visit a traditional cocoa farm nestled in the heart of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta. After a beautiful hike along the steep paths of the Sierra Nevada, you will visit a family-run cocoa plantation. You will discover the secrets of cocoa cultivation and have wonderful encounters, Nevada de Santa Marta. In the afternoon, you will kayak down the calm waters of the Rio Don Diego to observe the many species of birds that live on its banks. La Guajira, hosted by a Wayuu family
La Guajira is a wild and desert land that stretches to the far north of Latin America. You will discover the culture of the Wayuu Indians and magnificent beaches where sand dunes plunge into the Caribbean. Early morning departure for La Guajira in a 4*4. Visit the salt marshes of Manaure, Uribia (the indigenous capital of La Guajira), and the exceptional landscapes of the desert. Arrival in the afternoon at La Boquita beach and relaxation. At sunset, you will take a small fisherman's boat to reach your accommodation with Emilio's family, a Wayuu Indian family. Dinner and overnight stay with the locals.

After breakfast, you will leave for the largest sand dune in Latin America and spend the morning on a deserted Caribbean beach, in the middle of the desert. Visit to the viewpoint and the lighthouse of Punta Gallina, the northernmost point of Latin America. Lunch with a local family. Afternoon and sunset on the Guja beach. Meals and overnight stay with a local host.
