Easter in Armenia

Armenia, discover this 10-day trip

Trip Description

For those who want to discover Armenia in the depths of its origins and history, ARATOURS offers an unforgettable initiatory journey during the period of Armenian Easter. Celebrated each year on the first Sunday after the spring equinox, Armenian Easter ("Zatik") is the most important holiday of the Armenian Apostolic Church, in a country that was the first state to adopt Christianity as its official religion in the year 301. Let yourself be guided on a journey during which you will have the opportunity to visit the regions most marked by ancient traditions, attend religious services, and experience the atmosphere of Easter celebrations. Receiving communion at the end of mass is, for Armenian believers, the conclusion of Holy Week as well as the forty-day Lent. That same evening, families and friends gather around a dinner traditionally made up of dishes based on eggs, fish, and vegetables accompanied by pilaf rice with dried fruits, not to mention the delicious tcheurek (slightly sweet bread) that you will surely have the chance to taste along the way. Come and enjoy rare and enchanting moments in the footsteps of one of the oldest preserved Christian lands—you will not be disappointed!
