Trip Description

This tour allows you to discover the highlights of the best and largest circuit in northern Tanzania. During this 10-day safari, you will visit the starting point of the highest mountain in the world (Kilimanjaro), the Ngorongoro Crater, Arusha, Tarangire, Lake Manyara, and Serengeti National Park. The seasonal spectacle of thousands of wildebeest and zebras crossing the grassy savannah is something to see and is certainly one of Africa's natural wonders. In addition, you will be rewarded with magnificent landscapes, an animal-filled crater, and thousands of flamingos.

  • day 1

    Arrival at Moshi airport.

    A member of the Samora Explorers Ltd team will welcome you at Kilimanjaro International Airport and greet you upon your arrival in Tanzania. They will drive you to Moshi, to your accommodation, where you will have the opportunity to relax and prepare for the next day's safari. Dinner and overnight at Weruweru Lodge. Meals: Dinner included.

    Moshi - Kilimanjaro National Park

    Moshi - Parc national du Kilimandjaro

    In the morning, you will go to the starting point of Kilimanjaro, where you will get to know the mountain. You will then have time to visit the Ndoro waterfalls and the Chagga tribe. In the late afternoon, you will return to Arusha where you will have the opportunity to relax. Dinner and overnight at the Tulia hotel. Meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

    Arusha National Park

    The altitude of the park ranges from 1500 m to 4566 m (the summit of Mount Meru), which gives rise to several different vegetation zones, from open grasslands to high-altitude forests. The fauna and flora include 400 species of resident and migratory birds, including immense flocks of pink flamingos and lesser flamingos in the alkaline waters of the beautiful Momela lakes. Resident mammals include the hyena, buffalo, klipspringer, gerenuk, black-and-white colobus, and blue monkey. Varieties of tropical snakes, chameleons, alligators, and turtles can be closely observed at the reptile and snake farm. Walking safaris are possible, but they must be accompanied by an armed ranger.     Arusha - Tarangire National Park

    In the morning, you will start your safari with a drive to Tarangire National Park. The park is about the size of Luxembourg and covers an area of approximately 2,600 km². Bushy savannah, seasonal marshes, and giant baobabs make up the landscape of this nature reserve. The park is probably one of the best places in East Africa to observe elephants. From the open roof of the safari vehicle, you will be able to watch them and take in the scenery. In addition to elephants, the park is also home to Masai giraffes, various gazelles, antelopes, buffaloes, lions, leopards, baboons, and more than 500 species of birds. After a long safari, you will leave the park in the afternoon to reach your accommodation in Karatu. Dinner and overnight at Marera Valley Lodge. Meals: Breakfast, lunch, and dinner included.

    Ngorongoro Crater - Serengeti National Park

    After an early breakfast, you will head towards the Ngorongoro Crater by taking a steep and narrow road. The slopes are wooded, but the landscape quickly transforms into savannah dotted with occasional acacias. The wildlife there is absolutely breathtaking and, if you are lucky, you may spot the "Big Five": lion, elephant, buffalo, rhinoceros, and leopard. The crater is also home to warthogs, wildebeest, zebras, hippos, hyenas, and many other animals. After a morning dedicated to animal watching and a picnic lunch, you will leave the crater in the afternoon to go to Serengeti National Park, where you will spend the night. Some interesting facts about the crater, The Ngorongoro Crater is the largest volcanic caldera in the world, formed during the massive explosion of a volcano that was once higher than Kilimanjaro, about 2 to 3 million years ago.     Serengeti National Park

    The Serengeti offers landscapes, sounds, and smells that are very characteristic of Africa, with breathtaking panoramas, changing lights, and fascinating wildlife. In this park, the animals do not move according to a precise schedule. Therefore, we may encounter lions, leopards, elephants, zebras, cheetahs, antelopes, gazelles, hippos, as well as many species of birds and reptiles during our safaris. You can spend your day in the central area of the park, where your guide will know where to take you depending on the season (animal migration). Dinner and overnight at Serengeti Wild Camp. Meals: Breakfast, lunch, and dinner included.

    Serengeti National Park - Karatu

    Half-day safari in Serengeti National Park. Before leaving the park, we visit the Serengeti Visitor Center to get more information about the park and to be able to follow the tracks of the wildebeest, as well as to see up close some animals such as the rock or tree hyrax, the porcupine, and the lizards. After lunch, we will leave the Serengeti to go to Karatu. Dinner and overnight at Marera Valley Lodge. Meals: Breakfast, lunch, and dinner included.

    Walking safari in Mto wa Mbu

    Although you cannot walk in the park itself, you can enjoy walks in the villages, forests, floodplains, and hikes along the edge of the Great Rift Valley, with magnificent views of Lake Manyara. You will learn about local plants, insects, birds, and small mammals thanks to an expert guide. The walk will allow you to discover local farms, houses, and the Maasai market. After the visit, you can choose to have a local lunch in the heart of the village or at the Swahili Canteen restaurant in Mto Wa Mbu. It is a day rich in culture, sights, and amazing landscapes. In the late afternoon, we head to Arusha. Dinner and overnight at Tulia Hotel. Meals: Breakfast, lunch, and dinner included.

    Transfer to the airport
