YerevanArrival at the airport. Flight to Yerevan. Welcome at Yerevan airport by a French-speaking agent and transfer to the hotel. Overnight stay.
day 2
Yerevan – Selim Caravanserai – Armaghan MountainMeeting with the guide at the hotel reception at 9 a.m. In the morning, departure from Yerevan to the Vayots Dzor region. Arrival at the Selim caravanserai in the afternoon. Welcome by the specialist who will be waiting for us to start the excursion. The goal of the day will be as follows: to reach the summit of the volcanic mountain of Armaghan (2828 m alt.) passing through Argichi, the highest plateau in the country. At the top of Mount Armaghan, we will be able to admire the small lake formed inside the ancient crater, as well as the breathtaking view of the Gegharkunik region and Lake Sevan. Picnic on site. Free time to take photos. Later, we will head towards the all-terrain vehicle equipped with all the necessary equipment for the trip (tents and sleeping bags). Dinner will be organized around a fire, accompanied by traditional Armenian music (duduk, zourna, dhol).
day 3
Armaghan – SarnaghbyurWe will start the hike after breakfast. We will cross the Argichi plateau, following the tributary of the river of the same name. Next, we will visit an old dwelling, called "Karadzi", which was occupied during the Soviet era. Then, we will meet local farmers before continuing the journey to an ancient fortress and the sanctuary of St. Vardan. After the picnic, we will head towards Sarnaghbyur. Free time. In the evening, Armenian dinner with a tasting menu of fish, cheese, and salads, all accompanied by lavash bread and Armenian wine. We will also have the opportunity to enjoy potatoes prepared in the "tonir", the traditional Armenian oven.
day 4
Sarnaghbyur – SpitakassarIn the morning, after breakfast, we will continue on the road towards the magnificent Lake Sevan, taking the time to appreciate the picturesque Mount Spitakassar. Picnic on site and free time for individual horseback riding. In the evening, we will meet again to set up the tents and enjoy together chicken, lavash, cheese, salads, wine, and fruit.
day 5
SpitakassarAfter breakfast, we will set off to explore the alpine meadows, admiring the multicolored nature of the surroundings. In the afternoon, return for the meal. In the evening, Armenian barbecue on site, near the tents. We will also enjoy salads, as well as eggplants, peppers, and tomatoes grilled over a wood fire, with bread, cheese, fruit, and wine.
day 6
Spitakassar – Yeranos – Noratous – Hayravank – Sevanavank – YerevanIn the morning, after packing up the tents, suite of the journey to Yeranos. End of the horseback trek. Then, we will continue the journey by car to Noratous, the largest concentration of famous khachkars ("stone crosses"), before heading to the 9th-century Hayravank Monastery. Lunch on site. Our last discovery will be the Sevan Peninsula: Sevanavank with its two churches Saints-Apostles and Holy-Mother-of-God (9th century), perched on the hill. Return to Yerevan in the evening. Rest and overnight at the hotel.
day 7
City tour in YerevanThe morning will begin with a visit to the Matenadaran, which houses thousands of manuscripts with timeless charm. Next, discover a traditional and family-run carpet factory, Megerian, where magnificent world-renowned Armenian carpets are on display. Continue the tour to the Armenian Genocide Memorial, perched atop Tsitsernakaberd, as well as its museum. Free time for rest. Preparations for departure and overnight at the hotel.
