    Arrival in Mexican lands

    You will arrive at the end of the day. An agent will personally welcome you at the airport, give you your welcome bag, and you will go to pick up your rental car. You will spend your first night in Cancun, in a small hotel located in the city center. This will just be enough time to regain your strength and start your road trip in great shape.     Today, you will drive towards Tulum, 2 hours from Cancún, where you can enjoy the village, the beach, or its cenotes in complete freedom. You will find all our local tips in the travel guide that we will give you upon your arrival.

    Sunrise over the ruins of Tulum.

    It is at dawn, outside of opening hours, that you will visit the archaeological site of Tulum. An absolutely unusual and exclusive experience, which will allow you to enjoy the sunrise, alone on the site, with a breathtaking view of the Caribbean Sea. You will then visit two cenotes, with very distinct geological formations, where you will go snorkeling and swim at your leisure. You will then go to a Mayan family to learn how to make tortillas and eat on site.

    Today, you hit the road and head towards Bacalar, known for its lagoon of seven blues. In the late afternoon, you will go admire the sunset on a paddleboard on the lagoon. A fun experience, where you will delight in absolutely unique and orange colors, while paddling peacefully.

    Set off to discover the magnificent lagoon of seven blues by catamaran with an expert guide, who will share all their knowledge about the lake's biodiversity. You will let yourself be carried by the wind and observe different varieties of mangroves as well as several species of birds. You will take a short swimming break in these turquoise waters, enjoying tropical fruits in a dreamlike setting! 2 options are available for this getaway: kayak or catamaran.

    This morning, you enjoy your hotel facing the lagoon, then you head towards Tzucacab, a small village in the heart of the Yucatán peninsula.

    Set out to discover the archaeological site, impressive for the grandeur of its structures, all dedicated to the god of rain. Uxmal, in the Puuc style, is one of the most beautiful archaeological sites in Yucatán, not only for its remarkable buildings but also for its very green surroundings. We invite you to meet your guide Ricardo at the entrance of the site at 8:30 am and to visit together the main buildings. Ricardo has 20 years of experience, mostly at Uxmal and throughout the Yucatán region. He is passionate about pre-Hispanic culture and painting. After the visit, you will head to the village of Celestún where you will spend the night.

    Go off the beaten path with a certified local guide. The Celestún reserve offers a spectacle whose colors are well worth the trip! A superb excursion awaits you there at sunrise, accompanied by an expert guide in biodiversity. Ideal for discovering the biodiversity of Yucatán, in absolutely authentic landscapes. You will have the opportunity to observe various species of birds, including flamingos (very visible between September and February). Your guide will introduce you to the local flora and ecosystem, and will provide you with all the necessary explanations.

    Get on your bikes in the morning to discover the surroundings of Mérida, off the beaten path. In addition to visiting the main buildings of the city, such as the San Ildefonso Cathedral, the Casa Montejo, or the government palace, we invite you to enter the traditional markets and stroll along the Paseo Montejo avenue, where the great colonial villas were built. You can also take 2 breaks in cenotes to cool off.

    Discovery of the golden village and a wonder of the world

    On the road leaving Mérida towards the west, in the direction of Chichén Itzá and Valladolid, the village of Izamal is a good option to stretch your legs. Izamal is a "Pueblo Mágico" (= magical village) in which all the facades are yellow. You will find hacienda-style buildings and typically colonial architecture. After Izamal, you arrive at Chichén Itzá, where one of the 7 wonders of the world is located: the Temple of Kukulkan. Dive between the Mayan and Toltec cultures! Immerse yourself in the heart of the history of a unique archaeological site, at sunset, outside official opening hours. You will learn everything about the history of Chichén Itzá with your French-speaking guide Juan, as well as the recent discoveries that have been made there. You will go visit the impressive ball court, the temple of a thousand columns, the old market, and the observatory.

    Day at Valladolid at your leisure.

    Free visit of the city, its central square, the San Servacio church, the Ex-Convent and San Bernardino de Siena museum, as well as the typical market. Ideal city for buying handicrafts, clothing... Possibility to swim in the Zací cenote, located in the city center. Its location is exceptional! In your travel diary, we will indicate our best choices of restaurants and things to see in Valladolid.

    Arrival in paradise: Holbox Island

    Today, you are heading towards Holbox Island! Welcome to paradise: white sand beaches, nature, and guaranteed disconnection. You will park your car in the village of Chiquila, where you will board a ferry. Indeed, cars are not allowed on the island. You will reach your eco-friendly hotel with a sea view and enjoy the beach in the afternoon.

    In this tour, let yourself be guided through the winding mangroves, where you can observe various birds, spectacular landscapes, and surely crocodiles! Thanks to this motorless tour, you will be able to listen to the gentle song of the birds. The mangroves are home to bird species different from those you can see on the coast. Sometimes, crocodiles and flamingos can be seen basking in the sun on the banks of the canals.
