day 2
Visit of Salvador and transfer to the Chapada Diamantina park.Morning accompanied by your guide to discover the "Pelourinho", the historic center of Salvador, as well as its historical and architectural heritage. Early morning transfer to the bus station and bus ride (comfortable!) to the destination of Chapada Diamantina Park (7-hour journey). Arrival and check-in at Pousada do Capão, in the heart of Chapada Diamantina Park.
day 3
Hike to the Fumaça waterfall (5 hours of walking).Departure for a day of hiking to one of the most remarkable sites in the Chapada Diamantina. This beautiful hike on the high plateaus allows you to discover the richness of the local flora before reaching the magnificent Fumaça canyon. The 400-meter abyss protects a primitive forest dominated by edible palm trees; the viewpoint is exceptional. Picnic on site. Return to the pousada at the end of the afternoon.
day 4
Car tour with easy walks: discovery of Mount Pai Inácio, Poço do Diabo and the town of Lençóis.We set out today to discover the remarkable "poço do Diabo" and its monumental waterfall, which we reach after following the course of the river. We then continue to the charming colonial town of Lençois. The restored pastel-toned facades recreate what the diamond capital might have been like in the last century. Visit to local artisans and artists, from the ceramist to the photographer. Meal in an excellent restaurant serving grilled meats and regional dishes. We then head to Mount Pai Inácio, from where you can see the entire Sincorá mountain range. Due to the size of this region, these are parks that are 130 km long. Overnight at the pousada.
day 5
Hiking and discovery of waterfalls (4 to 5 hours of walking)Breakfast, then drive to the last village at the top of the valley, Bomba. We climb up to the high plateaus, immense natural reserves of fauna and flora. Orchids and bromeliads have found here a privileged ground. The surrounding mountains offer a refuge for beige cougars (sussuarana), and we discover the Pati massifs which shelter the last totally isolated community of the park. Picnic on the plateaus, by the river. We then head to the beautiful Cristaux waterfall, followed by a swim in the "poço Angelica" at the end of the day. Return to the pousada in the late afternoon, then return by bus to Salvador at 10:30 pm for an overnight journey.
day 6
Arrival in Salvador de Bahia and flight to São Luís.Arrival of your bus in Salvador and transfer to the airport. Flight to São Luís. Arrival at the airport and transfer to the hotel. Steeped in history, São Luís is the capital of the state of Maranhão and is located between the bays of São Marcos and São José de Ribamar. The afternoon is free to explore the city. Night in São Luís at the pousada Portas da Amazonia.
day 7
Discovery of the Lençóis Maranhenses park! Hike (4 hours)Early in the morning, we leave for the Lençóis Maranhenses park by land transfer (260 km - about 4 hours). Arrival in the small town of Barreirinhas, where we board a boat towards Atins. We go down the river and take a short walk along the way in the dunes to discover the "small Lençóis" before arriving at the village of Atins for lunch. The afternoon is dedicated to our walk through the dunes (about 4 hours) to Baixa Grande, one of the oases of the Lençóis Maranhenses National Park. Throughout the journey, we will contemplate the most isolated lagoons of the park. Settle into the camp and spend the night in a hammock in the village.
day 8
Hiking in the parkAfter breakfast, we leave at 6 a.m., accompanied by our guide, to continue our adventure. That day, we will take a 14 km walk (approx. 5h30). Throughout the journey, we will admire the most beautiful lagoons in the park. We will settle in at Queimada dos Britos and take the opportunity to get to know the locals. This oasis, located in the heart of the national park, has hosted the filming of movies such as "Casa de Areia" as well as many national and international documentaries. Free evening and overnight in a hammock in the village.
day 9
Hiking in the park and return transfer to Sao Luis.Departure very early this morning to continue our walk towards Betânia (17 km - about 7 h), with an expected arrival at 12 p.m. This part of the park is known for having the largest lagoons. Arrival in Betânia for lunch in a local restaurant. We will then return to São Luís by land (260 km - about 4 hours). Night in São Luís at the Pousada Portas da Amazonia.

Return flightTransfer to the airport and return flight, or continuation of your journey.
