Saturday: MumbaiAfter a traditional welcome and boarding in Mumbai, dinner is served as we travel towards the Ajanta caves.
day 2
Sunday: AjantaBy visiting this World Heritage site, you will be able to admire the exquisite frescoes and sculptures in these 2nd century BC caves.
day 3
Monday: UdaipurThe fantastic landscape leading to the impressive Udaipur is further enhanced by the magnificent structures. After breakfast, you will visit the grand City Palace complex. Built in 1559 in a flamboyant style, it is considered the largest of its time in Rajasthan, a fusion of Rajasthani and Mughal architectural styles. This visit is followed by a traditional lunch at the Fatehprakash Palace, which houses the crystal gallery composed of crystal chairs, wardrobes, sofas, tables, beds, as well as tableware and table fountains that have never been used. There is also a unique jewel carpet. After that, you can either take a walking tour through the old, colorful, and lively market, visit the collection of vintage cars of the royal family, or enjoy a Sound and Light show at the palace.
day 4
Tuesday: JodhpurAfter breakfast and lunch on the train, the beautiful structures of Jodhpur come into view. Dinner is served after a walking tour of the old market at the clock tower and a visit to Mehrangarh Fort, a 16th-century palace located on a rocky promontory, 400 feet above the plain. This fort is made up of a complex of beautiful buildings, with remarkable filigree work in sandstone.
day 5
Wednesday: BikanerThe beauty of the desert, with its palaces and temples. Here, you can choose optional visits to the temples of Deshnok, the Lalgarh Palace Museum, a camel breeding farm, or the Kundan jewelry, followed by a visit to the impregnable fortress of Junagarh. Camel rides will be followed, in the evening, by an excursion into the sand dunes with sunset cocktails and a barbecue dinner.
day 6
Thursday: JaipurA guided tour of this lovely city then takes us to an elephant polo match, followed by a champagne lunch. After a visit to the impregnable Amber Fort, there will be the opportunity to go shopping, play golf, enjoy the spa, or visit the 18th-century city palace, painted pink in honor of the British royal family.
day 7
Friday: Ranthambore to Fatehpur SikriAfter an exciting morning safari in Ranthambore National Park, we return to the train for breakfast, then travel to Fatehpur Sikri where we visit the fascinating deserted royal court complex, featuring fabulous 16th-century architecture, as well as the Jama Masjid, which is one of the largest mosques in India.
day 8
Saturday: Agra to DelhiIn the early morning, we visit the romantic Taj Mahal. A hearty champagne breakfast is served at the Taj Khema, overlooking the Taj Mahal. Back on the train, our last lunch is taken as the train passes through the city of Delhi, where this magical journey ends.
