• day 1

  Arrival in Iceland – Hveragerði

  The village of flowers - Geothermal greenhouses (about 46 km) Your vehicle will be ready for you upon arrival at the airport so you can start your stay in Iceland without delay. From Keflavík International Airport, you will drive directly to the capital of Iceland, Reykjavik. Depending on your arrival time, you can visit the Blue Lagoon for a relaxing swim (optional).

  Reykjavik – Snæfellsnes Peninsula – Stykkishólmur

  Massive crater – Beaches – Glacier (about 250 km) Departure from Reykjavik towards the Snæfellsnes peninsula, located on the west coast. Explore the extraordinary variety of natural wonders offered by this peninsula: the rich birdlife found on the cliffs of Arnarstapi, the beautiful beach of Djúpalónssandur, etc. Throughout the day’s journey, you will enjoy a magnificent view of the Snæfellsjökull glacier. Optional: snowmobiling on the Snæfellsjökull glacier.

  Stykkishólmur – Brjánslækur – Westfjords

  Picturesque fishing villages – Ferry crossing – Bird cliffs (about 155 km) Ferry crossing in Breiðafjörður Bay, which is home to more than 3000 small islands inhabited by nesting birds and seals. After reaching the Westfjords, you explore the main attraction of the region: the Látrabjarg cliffs, the westernmost point of Europe. During the summer, the cliffs, which are 444 meters high, are occupied by millions of puffins, gannets, guillemots, and little auks. This place is a privileged spot to watch the midnight sun during the summer.

  Patreksfjörður – Bíldudalur – Thingeyri – Ísafjörður

  Beautiful waterfall – Capital of the Westfjords (about 220 km) Journey through the spectacular Westfjords. Visit to Dynjandi, the largest waterfall in this western region. It is made up of 7 successive waterfalls, each of them having its own name. The base of the waterfall offers a magnificent view of the lush valleys, a great opportunity to stop and have a peaceful picnic. Visit the small fishing villages of Bolungarvík and Suðureyri before arriving in Isafjörður, the main town of the Westfjords. Optional: kayak excursion in Isafjörður, boat trip to Vigur Island, visit to the Bolungarvík Natural History Museum.

  Isafjörður – Hólmavík – Strandir – Laugar Sælingsdalur

  Uninhabited fjords – Rich birdlife (about 360 km) Travel along the many uninhabited fjords of Ísafjarðardjúp with its magnificent coastline, where you may spot seals and birds. Continue towards the Hólmavík region. Visit the Strandir coast, one of the least visited corners of Iceland. In this region, you will be able to learn more about ancient witchcraft. End your day in the fertile and green valleys of Laugar Sælingsdalur, a region rich in ancient folklore. Optional: Museum of Witchcraft in Hólmavík.

  Laugar Sælingsdalur - Borgarfjörður – Reykjavík

  Viking heritage – Mysterious waterfalls – the most powerful hot spring in Europe (about 290 km) Drive to Eiríksstaðir, where you can see the replica of the house of the Viking Erik the Red and his son Leif Eriksson, two of the most famous Vikings in the world. Discover the Borgarfjörður region and visit the beautiful and mysterious waterfalls of Hraunfossar and Barnafoss, the historic site of Reykholt, and the hot springs of Deildartunguhver. Take the road via the Hvalfjörður fjord to reach Reykjavík.
