Day 01: Luang Prabang – Arrival♦ Arrival at the airport. ♦ Welcome and transfer to your hotel. ♦ Short rest, discovery of the beautiful Wat Xieng Thong. ♦ Discovery of the Royal Palace Museum. ♦ Climb the 329 steps leading to the top of Phousi Hill. ♦ Discovery of the famous night market. ♦ Overnight in Luang Prabang.
day 2
Day 02: Luang Prabang – Ban Xiengmene – Huaykua Waterfall♦ Departure at 08:30 from your hotel. We will cycle along the river and take a ferry to cross the Mekong and go to Ban XengMene, according to our 13-day Laos Travel program. ♦ Discover the region by bike with a few stops to take photos before reaching the village of Ban Nakham. ♦ Continue the bike ride through the lush rice fields, passing through several villages and tribes to observe the lifestyle of the local inhabitants. ♦ Lunch will be served at Ban Som. ♦ Discover the Khmu and Lao Loum villages by bike. ♦ Arrival in the middle of the afternoon at the beautiful Tad Hoykoua waterfall. ♦ Return to the city center. ♦ Overnight in Luang Prabang. Note: About 5-6 hours of cycling. Means of transport: Bicycle.
day 3
Day 03: Luang Prabang – Pak Ou Cave – Kamu Lodge♦ Arrival on board a traditional river boat at the Kamu Lodge pier at 08:30 AM ♦ Continuation of the journey to Kamu Lodge in the afternoon. ♦ Lunch at the lodge. ♦ Dinner will be served according to Kamu tribe standards. ♦ Return to your tent.
day 4
Day 04: Kamu Lodge – Pakbeng♦ Breakfast. ♦ Walk around the lodge while waiting for the start of the Shompoo cruise to continue your tour upstream on the Mekong River to Pakbeng. ♦ Lunch, local specialties will be served on board. Shompoo cruise departure schedule: Tuesday, Thursday, and Monday.
day 5
Day 05: Pakbeng – Luang Nam Tha♦ Discovery of this congregation before starting our tour to the north of Luang Namtha, in Oudomxay. ♦ Admiration of some Khmu, Tai Dam (Black Thai), and Hmong villages. ♦ Rest stop along the way, which will give you the chance to meet the minority ethnic groups Hmong, Khmu, Black Thai, and Lu (the mountain Hmong). ♦ Arrival in Luang Namtha at the end of the afternoon and transfer to the hotel. ♦ Explore the city in your own way. ♦ Overnight in Luang Namtha.
day 6
Day 06: Luang Nam Tha – Ban Sin Oudom – Camping in the forest♦ Departure from Luang Nam Tha. ♦ Continuation of the road towards the Nam Ha protected area. Meeting with our local guide in the village of Oudom after crossing the Nam Tha river by boat. ♦ Hiking on slopes. About 60 minutes of transfer / 6 hours of hiking.
day 7
Day 07: Camping in the forest – Khmu or Lanten village♦ Traditional breakfast. ♦ Hike on steep paths, higher up in the Nam Ha forest. ♦ Lunch break deep in the woods. ♦ Arrival at Ban Namkoy, of the Lanten tribe, or at Ban Nalantai, a Khmu village. About 6-7 hours of hiking.
day 8
Day 08: Luang Nam Tha♦ Breakfast in the village before enjoying a peaceful walk along the river and through the rice fields, before, once again, entering the forest. ♦ Break to have a well-deserved lunch, provided by the villagers, in a place with an incredible view of the valley. ♦ Descent from the mountain to Ban Chaleunsouk, where our songthaew will be waiting to take you back to Luang Namtha. ♦ Free time and overnight in Luang Namtha. Approx.: 6 hours of hiking / 25 minutes of transfer.
day 9
Day 09: Luang Nam Tha – Muang LaOudomxay – Luang Namtha 121 km, 2.43 hours, Route No 13+3 Oudomxay – Muang La 26.3 km, 38 min, Route No 2 E ♦ Visit of the congregation before starting our tour along the southern part of Muang La via Oudomxay. ♦ Arrival at Pra Xing Kham temple with its sacred 400-year-old Buddha statue. ♦ Visit of Muang La ♦ Exploration of the famous site for its natural hot springs. ♦ Overnight in Muang La.
day 10
Day 10: Muang La – Phongsaly♦ Breakfast. ♦ Continue the journey north through some of the most beautiful mountain tourist sites you can see in Southeast Asia. ♦ Arrival in the city of Phongsaly in the late afternoon. ♦ Overnight in Phongsaly.
day 11
Day 11: Phongsaly – 3 greens trek♦ Visit to the coniferous forest in Phongsaly, discovery of green tea and green whisky from Laos. ♦ Breakfast. ♦ Departure on foot from Phongsaly on a trail offering breathtaking views of the mountains. ♦ After 3 to 4 hours of walking, break for lunch. ♦ Continue on a small path through the jungle until reaching the summit of Phu Fa mountain. ♦ Crossing the forest, then the rest of the day will be free. ♦ Night in Phongsaly.
day 12
Day 12: Phongsaly – Muang Khua♦ Breakfast in town. ♦ Discovery of the famous 400-year-old tea plantation, located in the village of Ban Komaen, about 30 minutes south of Phongsaly. ♦ Continue on the road to Muang Khua for 4 hours. ♦ Night in Muang Khua.
day 13
Day 13: Muang Khua – Tay Trang♦ After breakfast at the hotel, you are transferred to the border at Tay Trang. ♦ You finish your 13-day Laos trip.
