Program Description – Peru 10 days / 9 nights Live an unforgettable experience exploring the most emblematic landscapes, history, and culture of Peru. This 10-day trip will take you from the vibrant city of Lima, with its colonial and modern charm, to the mystical imperial city of Cusco, passing through natural and archaeological wonders that will remain engraved in your memory. You will start in the capital, exploring its squares, churches, and most exclusive neighborhoods, then sail to the Ballestas Islands and discover the surprising Oasis of Huacachina, where you will experience the adrenaline of sandboarding and dune buggies. You will continue towards Cusco to discover its impressive archaeological centers and the Sacred Valley of the Incas, with visits to Pisac, Ollantaytambo, and traditional markets. The most anticipated moment will arrive at Machu Picchu, one of the 7 Wonders of the World, which you will tour accompanied by an expert guide. The adventure will continue with the hike to Humantay Lagoon, surrounded by snow-capped mountains, and with the exploration of the Maras Salt Mines and the agricultural laboratory of Moray. You will end the trip at the Rainbow Mountain, at more than 5,000 meters high, contemplating unique landscapes before returning to Lima for your international flight. day 1
International flight – arrival in Lima
At the indicated time, after your arrival at Lima International Airport, we will be waiting for you with a private vehicle to take you to the hotel. You will be able to rest.
day 2
Lima – City tour
Panoramic tour of the colonial and modern parts. In the historic center, we will take a panoramic tour of the Plaza de Armas, the Cathedral, the Government Palace, and the Torre Tagle Palace, transporting you to the past just by stepping on one of its steps. We will visit the Convent of Santo Domingo, one of the most important convents of the 17th century, and learn about the history and relics of the Peruvian saints: Santa Rosa de Lima and San Martín de Porres. Finally, we will arrive at the districts of Miraflores and San Isidro, two of the most beautiful and exclusive neighborhoods in the capital. At the end of the tour, you will have the rest of the day free to explore the Costa Verde.
day 3
Lima – Ballestas Islands – Huacachina Oasis – Lima
Departure very early by vehicle towards Paracas along the Panamericana Sur highway, along the Pacific coast. Upon arrival, we will head to the bay of Paracas, where we will take a boat for the excursion to the Ballestas Islands. There you will be able to observe otariids, pelicans, penguins, and other seabirds. On the way, you can see the figure of El Candelabro, engraved on the side of a hill. It is a geoglyph of rocky formation, eroded by wind and sea. At the end, we continue the trip towards Ica and head to the oasis of the "La Huacachina" lagoon. There we have scheduled to get on a dune buggy to ride the gigantic dunes and, from the top, we will take our boards to practice sandboarding on the dunes. At the end of this tour, we will return to the vehicle to make the trip back to the city of Lima, where you can rest.
day 4
Lima – flight to the city of Cusco – visit of Cusco
Very early, we will pick you up at your hotel with a private vehicle and take you to the airport in the city of Lima. You will board a flight to the city of Cusco. Upon arrival, we will be waiting for you with a private vehicle to take you to the hotel. In the afternoon, we will visit the beautiful imperial city, starting with a visit to Q’oricancha, also known as the Temple of the Sun. In addition, we will go up to the archaeological sites near the city, such as Sacsayhuaman, Qenqo, Pucapucara, and Tambomachay. At the end of this tour, we will return to the city of Cusco to rest.
day 5
Visit to the Sacred Valley of the Incas
This day we begin to explore the Sacred Valley of the Incas, on the banks of the Vilcanota River. Pick up from your hotel and we depart by bus towards the Sacred Valley of the Incas. There we will visit the Inca citadel of Pisac and its beautiful traditional market. Then we will arrive at the impressive fortress of Ollantaytambo. Finally, we will head to the train station to take the tourist train to the town of Aguas Calientes.
day 6
Visit to the historic sanctuary of Machu Picchu
This day we will visit one of the 07 Wonders of the World: the Historic Sanctuary of Machu Picchu. In the morning, we will take the tourist bus to the entrance gate of the citadel and then begin the guided tour through its main archaeological sites, such as its neighborhoods, squares, houses, agricultural areas, passages, observatories, and terraces, with their respective explanations about their functionality. After the guided circuit, we will return to the town of Aguas Calientes to take the train to Poroy. Upon arrival, we will pick you up and take you to your hotel in the city of Cusco.
day 7
Cusco – Humantay Lake – Cusco
In the morning we start the journey to the town of Mollepata, where we have breakfast. Then we continue the trip to Soraypampa, where we begin the hike to the Humantay lagoon. On the way, we will enjoy the beautiful landscapes that surround us until we reach Soraypampa and, after a while, we will reach the Humantay lagoon (4250 m). At the site, we will have enough time to enjoy the natural beauty that surrounds us, as well as the snow-capped peaks of Salkantay and Humantay. The guide will give us a demonstration of the use of the coca leaf and will make a small offering to the Apus (sacred mountains), in which we will participate. Finally, we will return to Cusco.
day 8
Cusco – Maras – Moray – Cusco
We will meet at the indicated time at our meeting point, and then take the vehicle that will transport us, passing through an artisan community in Chinchero, where we will see the treatment of llama wool, until our first destination: the Maras mines. The guide will explain the salt extraction process and we will have time to take photographs. Then, we will go to Moray, an agricultural laboratory that the Quechuas used to experiment with crops from the different regions where they were present. We will be able to walk along the designated paths to take photographs and feel the variation in climate according to the depth of the terraces, which can have a difference of 150 m between the lowest and highest points. Once the 6-hour tour is completed, we will return to Cusco in our vehicle, arriving at the city center.
day 9
Visit to the 7 Colors Mountain – flight to Lima
Very early in the morning, we will depart towards the beautiful Mountain of Seven Colors, also called Vinicunca. On the way, we will stop to have the buffet breakfast. Then we will continue to the access control and begin the hike, until we reach 5020 meters of altitude. At the top, our guide will give us explanations about the geological formation and we will have time to take the best photos with the spectacular view that nature offers us. After this wonderful visit, we will descend to have lunch. At the end of this tour, we will return to the city of Cusco, pick up the luggage and head to the city airport. Afterwards, we will board a flight to the city of Lima. Upon arrival, a vehicle will be waiting to take you to the hotel, where you can rest.
day 10
Lima – International Flight
Depending on the time of our international flight, we will pick you up at your hotel to transfer you to the Lima city airport. Afterwards, you will be able to board your flight home.
