Trip Description

During this tour, you will discover the wonders of Nepal. Its capital, of course, but also smaller cities, full of charm, such as Kirtipur. You will immerse yourself in the culture, notably through visits to many temples, and you will of course taste the local specialties. You will also have the chance to discover the largest Nepalese park, Chitwan Park, which has exceptional wildlife and flora.

    Breakfast at the hotel. In the afternoon, visit to the Thamel district, the main tourist area of Kathmandu. Due to its proximity to the historic center of the city, it is the ideal place to start the first day of sightseeing.

    Visit of Dakshinkali, Kirtipur and Chobar, then return to Kathmandu.

    Departure to Dakshinkali, arrival and visit of the city temple, dedicated to the goddess Kali. Climb of the Pharping hill, with as a reward a breathtaking view of the entire Himalayan range as well as its Buddhist monastery. Excursion to Kirtipur, a sleepy town that bears witness to a past grandeur now gone, thanks to the impressive medieval temples scattered through its alleys. Discovery of the Bagh Bhairab Temple, dedicated to the Tiger God Bhairab, and the Chilanchu Vihara which is located at the top of a hill. It has a central stupa and four smaller stupas around it. Return to Kathmandu and stop at the Chobhar gorges, located on a hill.

    Kathmandu to Nagarkot (via Patan, Pashupatinath and Boudhanath)

    Departure for Patan, the City of Beauty, one of the three ancient capitals of the valley. Patan offers a multitude of temples, palaces, shrines, and Buddhist monasteries: the Royal Palace, whose facade is an example of the local goldsmiths' craftsmanship, the Khrishna Mandir, the Narayan Mandir, the Vishwanata and the Bhimsen Mandir (Mandir = temple). Visit of the Golden Temple, which has a golden image of Buddha, and the Khumbeshwar Pagoda. Discovery of Durbar Square. Unusual visit to Pashupatinath, one of the oldest sites in Nepal. It is the most important Hindu temple in the country, dedicated to Pashupati, one of the incarnations of Shiva in his form as "lord of the animals." You will have an overview from the other bank of the Bagmati. This river serves the same function as the Ganges in India. Many pilgrims flock there, including a large number of sadhus. Then, visit to Bodhanath, an important Buddhist pilgrimage center built in the 5th century. Possibility to meet monks. You will then take the road to Nagarkot, which will be reached at sunset, offering an exceptional view of the Himalayas.

    Nagarkot to Bhaktapur (via Nala)

    After breakfast, mini trek from Nagarkot to Nala (3 hours of easy walking), through Tamang and Chettri villages (Nepalese ethnic groups). Arrival at the town of Nala and visit to the Bhagaveti Temple. Continue to the medieval city of Bhaktapur and visit one of the most beautiful cities in the Kathmandu Valley. Enjoy a calmer atmosphere as the city empties of its tourists. The city is also known for its pottery.

    Bhaktapur at Chitwan Park

    On the way to Chitwan Park after breakfast. Created in 1962, it is the largest of the 5 Nepalese parks in the Terai region. It is inhabited by the famous white rhinoceroses, deer, antelopes, monkeys, tigers, leopards, bears, crocodiles, and more than 300 species of birds. Arrival at the hotel and check-in.

    The day is devoted to the various activities offered: a walk in nature or in a local village. You can also opt for a jeep safari to discover the park's wildlife. Or a canoe ride to explore an alligator reserve and observe many birds. The Chitwan reserve abounds in rare species.

    Chitwan Park to Pokhara

    Departure to Pokhara. Arrival and visit of this important city. Discovery of Devi's waterfall. For those who wish, ascent of a small hill to reach the Peace Pagoda (World Peace Pagoda). Very beautiful panorama over the city and the lake.

    Pokhara to Sarangkot and back to Pokhara

    We advise you to get up early to enjoy the sunrise over the Annapurna range. Guaranteed thrills! Departure for a 2-hour mini-trek, easy level, to watch the sunrise. Boat ride on Lake Phewa. Near this lake is the Barahi-Bhawani temple, located on a small island. Visit to the Tibetan village of Tashiling. Prayer ceremony at the Hemja monastery. Then, visit to the International Mountain Museum to discover, among other things, the highlights of the history of the Himalayan peaks. Free dinner, if you wish, by the lake to prolong the pleasure of this magnificent view of the mountains and the lake.

    Pokhara to Kathmandu

    Departure after breakfast for the return to Kathmandu, a day on the road. After arrival in the evening, dinner at your leisure in a Nepalese specialty restaurant according to your preferences.

    Discovery of Durbar Square and visit to the palace square. You can admire the Taleju temple there. Visit to the Swayambhunath temple, the Monkey Temple. It is one of the most famous Buddhist stupas (Chaityas) in the world, and above all the largest. You will have to climb the 365 steps before reaching it. This temple features all the classic characteristics of stupa architecture. It is composed of several fundamental elements: a hemispherical base on which rests a conical spire. The famous eyes of Buddha, filled with wisdom, are painted according to the four cardinal points at the base of the cone. You will also notice a profusion of small stupas and small temples at the foot of the main monument. Depending on the flight schedule, transfer to the airport.
