Arrival in YangonUpon your arrival in the Burmese capital, Yangon, you will be greeted by a driver who will take you directly to your hotel. Enjoy the rest of the day at leisure to rest or stroll around the "green city," with its lush tropical trees, shaded parks, and beautiful natural lakes.
day 2
Yangon - Bago - KyaikthiyoIn the morning, you will be joined by your French-speaking guide at the hotel. You will immediately set off for Kyaikthiyo, the "Golden Rock." On the way, you will stop at Bago, where you will visit the Shwenandaw Pagoda and its golden stupa, the reclining Buddha of Shwethalyaung, as well as the four seated back-to-back Buddhas. Then, you will continue to Kinpum, where you will take a van to the base of the Golden Rock. There, you will discover a major pilgrimage site.
day 3
Kyaikthyio - YangonThis morning, you will get back on the road to Yangon. You will visit the Chauk Htat Gyi Pagoda and taste Burmese tea. In the afternoon, you will set off to discover the Shwedagon Pagoda, one of Myanmar's jewels. At the end of the day, you can admire the sunset from there.
day 4
Yangon – Mandalay – Ava – Sagaing – Mingun – MandalayEarly in the morning, you will take a flight to Mandalay, the second largest city in Myanmar and the country's "cultural center." You will start the day by visiting two former capitals, Ava and Sagaing. You will then go on a cruise on the Irrawaddy to Mingun. There, you will visit the great unfinished pagoda of King Bodawpaya as well as the monumental bronze bell. You will also discover the Hsinbyume pagoda. You will take the boat again at the end of the day to return to Mandalay.
day 5
Mandalay - Amarapura - MandalayIn the morning, you will set out to explore an ancient capital, Amarapura. On the way, you will visit the Mahamuni Pagoda and one of the most revered Buddha statues in the country, entirely covered with gold leaf. Upon your arrival in Amarapura, you will take a walk on the U Bein Bridge. In the afternoon, you will continue your visit of the city of Mandalay.
day 6
Mandalay - MaymyoIn the morning, you will leave for Pyin Oo Lwin (or May Myo), the former summer residence of the English governor. You will visit the central market and take a ride in a Victorian carriage around the city.
day 7
Maymyo - Mandalay – Bagan – Mount PopaIn the morning, you will get back on the road towards Mandalay where you will continue to explore the city with your guide. After your lunch, you will take a flight to Bagan, an incredible archaeological site with its 3000 temples and pink brick stupas, witnesses to the peak of Buddhist architecture in Myanmar.
day 8
Mount Popa - BaganIn the morning, you will visit the Mount Popa monastery, a place of worship dedicated to the Nats, the spirits of the Burmese pantheon. You will then take the road to Bagan. On the way, you can stop to visit a sugar cane plantation. In Bagan, you will visit in particular the Htilominlo temple, the Shwegugyi temple as well as the Thatbyinnyu, the largest temple in Bagan.
day 9
BaganIn the morning, you will have the opportunity to fly over Bagan in a hot air balloon. You will continue to explore the site by bike and set off to discover the colorful market of Nyuang Oo. Nearby, you can visit the Shwezigon Pagoda and the Gubyaukgyi Temple. You can also visit the village of Myinkaba and discover a lacquerware workshop. At the end of the day, you will go admire the sunset from the top of the Shwesandaw Paya.
day 10
Bagan – Heho – Pindaya – Inle LakeIn the morning, you will take a flight to Heho, from where you will drive to Pindaya. Upon arrival, you will visit a workshop making Shan paper umbrellas, a specialty of the region. You will also discover the natural caves of the village. In the afternoon, you will drive to Nyaung Shwe, the gateway to Inle Lake, where you will board a private motorized canoe for check-in at your hotel.
day 11
Inle LakeFrom your hotel, you will board your private pirogue. You will meet the Inthas, an early-rising people, famous for their unique way of fishing, and visit a village built on stilts. In the afternoon, you will visit the Nga Phe Monastery, which houses an astonishing collection of Buddha statues. You will also go to the village of Inpawkhone, renowned for its weaving of lotus flower stems. At the end of the day, return to your hotel before sunset.
day 12
Inle Lake - Indein - Heho - YangonIn the morning, you will go to discover the Pa-O village of Indein, located on the western shore of Inle Lake. You will visit the pagoda and the village. At the beginning of the afternoon, you will head to Heho airport for your domestic flight to Yangon.
