Kathmandu - Pashupati - Bhouda - BakhtapurIn the morning, visit to the great Hindu temple of Pashupatinath, a UNESCO World Heritage site dedicated to the worship of Shiva and surrounded by countless temples on the banks of the sacred Bagmati River. Pilgrims and devotees gather here. We will continue with a visit to the great Buddhist stupa of Boudanath, also listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site, a landmark of Tibetan culture where pilgrims and monks in red robes meet. In the afternoon, visit to Bakhtapur (13 km, about 30 minutes by road), a UNESCO World Heritage site. This beautifully restored medieval city preserves a strong traditional character and is rich in splendid Newari art monuments, such as the great five-story pagoda of Nyatapola and the three squares of Durbar, Tumadhi, and Dattatraya. Kathmandu-Bandipur-PokharaDay dedicated to transfer by private car to the city of Pokhara (5-6 hours drive). On the way, we will stop at Bandipur, which offers a magnificent view of the Himalayas, with a brief visit to the pedestrian area. We will then continue to Pokhara, a beautiful small town located on the shores of Lake Phewa. In the background rises the imposing wall of the Himalayas, which is reflected in the waters of the lake: Annapurna (8091 m), Macchrapuchare (6997 m), Lamjung (6986 m) and other peaks. Flight to JomsomEarly in the morning, mountain flight to Jomsom (Dzongsam, 2731 m, about 25 minutes flight) passing over two Himalayan giants of more than 8,000 m: Dhaulagiri and Annapurna, offering a breathtaking view. Visit of Jomsom and the surroundings (Thini Gaon) for those who wish, or a perfect moment of relaxation for acclimatization to the altitude. If the weather is unfavorable, we will take a private jeep to Jomsom, which will take the whole day, but will allow us to travel through the beautiful landscapes of this region. Kagbeni - ChusangAfter breakfast, we will leave by Jeep along the new dirt road that crosses the picturesque valley of the Kali Gandaki river, once a trade route between India and Tibet. We will reach the village of Kagbeni (2,800 m), the "Gateway to Mustang", with the Sakya school monastery. We will continue north to the ancient village of Tangbe (3,050 m), a labyrinth of narrow alleys and white houses with orange stripes. We will continue to the nearby village of Chhusang (2,940 m), located on the riverbed, surrounded by cultivated fields and the usual small stupa. Meals: Breakfast, lunch & dinner Hotel: Lodge
day 6
Syangboche - GhamiAfter breakfast, we head north towards the village of Syangboche (3,800 m), which is located almost at the bottom of the valley. A short climb leads to the pass of the same name: the Syambochen La (3,850 m), where you have the first beautiful view of the village of Ghiling, surrounded by green cultivated fields that develop at the bottom of the valley. Next, we will continue on an almost flat track to reach Chhunggar, where the Grand Chorten is located, with the characteristic striped paintings on the walls. We will gradually descend into a gorge and climb back up to the Nyi La (4,010 m), overlooking a beautiful valley. After a long descent, we will reach Ghami (3,520 m), a small village in the middle of cultivated fields. Meals: Breakfast, lunch & dinner Hotel: Lodge
day 7
Tsarang – Lo ManthangAfter breakfast, we will explore interesting villages and monasteries. We will go a bit "off-road" to see the village of Dhakmar. After that, we will head towards our destination for the day: Manthang, the capital of Mustang, with the ruins of the surrounding forts. Manthang was founded in 1450 by the son of the legendary Ame Pal, a conqueror who united the small kingdoms of Upper Mustang. In this small and picturesque center, there is an almost surreal atmosphere. Meals: Breakfast, lunch & dinner Hotel: Lodge

Lo ManthangDay dedicated to visiting the city and its surroundings. The magnificent monasteries of Lho Manthang are beautiful examples of the Sakya-Pa sect, and the alleys as well as the squares invite you to discover them calmly. With a bit of luck (and the help of the guide), it will be possible to obtain an audience with King Jingme Paldor Bista Gurung in his royal palace. Meals: Breakfast, lunch & dinner Hotel: Lodge

Lo Manthang - excursionsFull day dedicated to excursions in the surrounding area, to be arranged on site with your guide. Excursions may include the villages of Garphu, Namdrul, Tingkar, Nyphu Gompa, Namgyal Gompa, or the Jhong caves, as well as other similar excursions. Chhusang – Tetang – Kagbeni – Mukhtinath – JomsomFor those who wish, in the morning, a half-hour trek is offered to reach the extraordinary village of Tetang. Return to Chhusang, then drive to Kagbeni to continue east, climbing up to Mukhtinath, with splendid views of Nilgiri (7,200 m) and Dhaulagiri (8,167 m). Visit of the Muktinath temple, one of the most sought-after pilgrimage destinations for Hindus and Buddhists. For those who wish, it is possible to visit the village of Jarkot, built on a cliff and dominated by a monastery and a fort (Dzong), then descend in the afternoon to Jomsom by jeep. KathmanduVisit, in the morning, of an important Buddhist center: the Swayambhunath stupa, known as the Monkey Temple, due to the large number of monkeys living inside. This ancient religious complex is located at the top of a hill to the west of the Kathmandu valley. From here, you have a magnificent view of the city and the surrounding valley.
