  • day 1

    Tokyo

    You are welcomed by a French-speaking or English-speaking assistant at Narita or Haneda International Airport, then transferred by shuttle to your hotel (depending on your choice of flights). Check-in at the hotel in the center of Tokyo.

  • day 2

    Tokyo

    A day of sightseeing by metro with a French-speaking guide. Your French-speaking guide will show you how to buy tickets, take the train, and change trains so that you can use the metro without difficulty the next day. At the same time, you will be able to catch a glimpse of the daily life of Tokyoites. You will visit during the day: - The Asakusa district and the Senso-ji temple: this is an old district of Tokyo with the most visited Buddhist temple in the city. - The Shinjuku district and the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building (observatory): this is a very lively district both day and night. It has two different faces: to the east, there are bars and small restaurants, and to the west, it is a business district where several skyscrapers are located, including the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building. - The Meiji Shrine: this shrine is dedicated to Emperor Meiji after his death.

    Tokyo-Kyoto

    You are welcomed by a French or English-speaking assistant at the hotel. Transfer to Tokyo station. You leave for Kyoto in the morning (around 6:30) by Shinkansen, the Japanese high-speed train. If the weather is good, you may be able to see Mount Fuji from the window of the Shinkansen. Arrival at Kyoto station around 9 o'clock, you are welcomed by a French-speaking guide at Kyoto station and depart for the Kyoto tour, using public transportation. Kyoto is the former capital of Japan, hence the presence of several historical monuments. - Kinkakuji (Golden Pavilion): it was a former residence of the shogun. The whole complex was burned down and only the Golden Pavilion was rebuilt. - Gion: This is a perfectly preserved district that gives you an idea of the Edo period. - Kiyomizu Temple: this is a Buddhist temple of the Shingon sect. This temple is known for its interlocking wooden construction made up of 139 pillars. - Nijo Castle: This is a castle built at the beginning of the 17th century.

    Kyoto-Nara

    With a French-speaking guide, you head towards Nara by public transport and visit the ancient Japanese capital (Nara was the Japanese capital in the 8th century, before Kyoto) for a half-day. - Todaiji (Todaiji Temple): this is a Buddhist temple with a large bronze statue of Buddha, and the building is considered the oldest wooden building in the world. - Kasuga Taisha (Grand Kasuga Shrine): this is a Shinto shrine where the protective deity of the city of Nara is worshipped. Return to Kyoto around 3 p.m.

    Kyoto

    Free day in Kyoto. If you wish to go to Hiroshima or elsewhere, we can organize excursions, with or without a French-speaking guide.

    Kyoto-Tokyo

    You return to Tokyo by Shinkansen at the time you want.
