  Desert getaway - Morocco

  Day 1: Marrakech - Telouet - Ouarzazate via Ait Ben Haddou Meeting at 8:00 am and departure by 4x4 towards Ouarzazate via the Tizi-n-Tichka pass. Continue to the kasbah of Telouet, ancestral home of Pacha Glaoui. Continue along the track passing through ksours and kasbahs, including that of Anmiter, to reach the Ounila valley. Follow the track to reach the kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou. We will stroll through the sloping alleys of the old ksar, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site. Dinner and overnight stay on site, in a guest house. Day 2: Ait Ben Haddou - Ouarzazate - Agdz - the Drâa valley - Zagora - M'hamid Departure in the morning by 4x4 from Ait Ben Haddou via Ouarzazate to M'hamid, passing through the Drâa valley, skirting a palm grove for over 200 km. We will sometimes take tracks to cross typical villages and family gardens. Passing through the towns of Agdz and Zagora. Stop at the village of Tamgroute to visit the pottery workshops and kilns and, if desired, the Quranic library. Continue to M'hamid, the last palm grove of the Drâa and gateway to the desert. Settle in at the M'hamid bivouac 2 km from the village, in the middle of the first dunes. Dinner and evening with songs from young nomads, night in a comfortable tent. Day 3: M’hamid - the sacred oasis - Chegaga After breakfast, camel ride for an hour, then departure by 4x4 along a sandy track to the great dunes of Chegaga, the largest dunes in Morocco. Pass by the sacred oasis. Lunch in the shade of palm trees or tamarisks. In the afternoon, resume the track towards Chegaga. Settle in at the Chegaga bivouac, then climb the highest dune to watch the sunset over the sea of sand and the waves of golden dunes. Dinner, evening, and overnight at the bivouac. Day 4: Chegaga - Lake Iriqui - Foum Zguid - Taznakht - Marrakech Departure for Marrakech by the track between the Chegaga erg and the dried-up bed of the Drâa, passing by Lake Iriqui (vast area of compacted sand), then by Foum Zguid where we will rejoin the road to Taznakht, city of carpet cooperatives. We will continue towards Marrakech. Several stops will be made during the day between Taznakht and Marrakech before arriving at your hotel.
