    Petra

Breakfast at the hotel. Suggested visits: a day of sightseeing in Petra & Little Petra. Of all the Near East, Petra, the "Rose City", is undoubtedly one of the greatest archaeological wonders. Declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the troglodyte city of the Nabataeans, founders of one of the most important civilizations, has nearly 800 monuments over 100 km². This unique site in the world reveals, through paths and trails, temples, tombs, bas-reliefs... concentrated in a central circus and on the surrounding mountains. A fabulous getaway not to be missed, blending the beauty of a natural site with the genius of ancient architecture. Overnight at the hotel in Petra.

  • day 4

    Petra - Wadi Rum

Breakfast at the hotel. Suggested visits: road to Petra to visit Wadi Rum. Departure for an adventure with a journey through the cliffs, peaks, and valleys of Wadi Rum, which owe their "serene beauty" and their "overwhelming grandeur" only to themselves. One of the most beautiful deserts, a natural filming location for the movie "Lawrence of Arabia," Wadi Rum offers magnificent landscapes with iridescent hues: a dried-up valley, nestled in red sandstone cliffs, strange shapes sculpted by the winds and the sun. Night and dinner in Wadi Rum.

  • day 5

    Wadi Rum - Aqaba

Aqaba Breakfast at the hotel. Suggested visits: beach day in Aqaba. Aqaba is located on this arm of the Red Sea, called the Gulf of Aqaba, 180 km long, of which 27 km belong to Jordan. Known as the "Window of Jordan to the sea," Aqaba also has a bird observatory, an Antiquities Museum, and an Archaeological Museum. At the end of the corniche is a Mamluk fort and, on an island in the middle of the gulf, the castle of Saladin, enemy of Richard the Lionheart. The main organization is the "Jordan Royal Ecological Diving Society," responsible for research, observation, and protection of the waters and marine life. The protected area of Aqaba Marine Park, located 15 km south of the city center, allows visitors to view programs on marine activity. It has an auditorium, a souvenir shop, a restaurant, a scientific and marine station, as well as the 21 main diving spots accessible to all levels. Diving is possible all year round in calm waters, between 20° in winter and 27° in summer. Depths range from 6 to 90 meters. At 100 m from the shore, you can already reach a depth of 50 m. The richness of the underwater fauna and flora, as well as the clarity of the water, make Aqaba an ideal place for professional and amateur divers, as well as for underwater photographers. 700 varieties of corals have been recorded, some existing for 200 million years, more than 4000 different species of fish, some of which are the most beautiful in the world, and thousands of plants and animals. Sometimes you can also observe white sharks, dugongs, and dolphins. However, it is a particularly fragile environment and must be respected if we want to maintain the life of this truly unique natural ecosystem. The wonders of the marine world can also be observed from glass-bottom boats, and some diving boats can be privatized. Finally, other water sports are available: sailing, water skiing, jet skiing, canoeing, banana-boat… Night in Aqaba.

  • day 6

Aqaba - Wadi Araba - Dead Sea - Amman

Breakfast at the hotel. Suggested visits: drive along the Wadi Araba road to the Dead Sea. An unusual swim in the Dead Sea, the lowest point on the globe located more than 399 meters below sea level, known for the benefits of its waters and muds rich in mineral salts. Bordered by Israel, the West Bank, and Jordan, the Dead Sea has been known since the time of Herodotus, more than 2000 years ago, for the benefits of its waters and muds. These have been used over the centuries by illustrious figures such as Queen Cleopatra. The Jordan River and various streams flow into it, and the evaporation of the trapped waters leaves an alluvial sediment with therapeutic benefits. It is the only place in the world with such a combination of thermal resources: the climatic and geographical conditions are exceptional: the region's heat, solar radiation, oxygen-enriched atmosphere, and the lowest altitude on the globe. The very salty and warm water is relaxing, the Dead Sea mud, saturated with mineral salts, retains heat and is rich in: Calcium – purifies the epidermis and relieves pain Sodium – regulates the skin's pH Chlorine – natural antiseptic, reduces swelling Magnesium – improves skin metabolism and protects against allergies Potassium – regulates the body's hydration Iodine – improves thyroid function Sulfur – purifies and stimulates metabolism As for the shoreline plants, especially the balsam tree, they produce substances sought after in cosmetics, perfumery, and medicine. Laboratories manufacture a whole range of products to continue the benefits of a treatment. The Dead Sea Medical Centre is certified by the Ministry of Health and the Jordanian Medical Association. The tourist beach is equipped with pools and cabins. Return to Amman for the night.

  • day 7

Departure towards the north of Amman to visit the ruins of the Greco-Roman cities of Pella, nestled at the foot of the mountain overlooking the Jordan Valley, as well as Um Qais, the ancient Gadara of the Bible, located at a strategic crossroads between Syria and Palestine. To see: an amazing black basalt theater, the remains of a Byzantine church, a colonnaded Decumanus Maximus, a forum with the remains of shops and a hippodrome, not to mention the spectacular view over the Yarmouk Valley, the Sea of Galilee, and the Golan Heights.
