• day 1

  Arrival, Reykjanes and Reykjavik

  Arrival in Keflavík. Pick up a rental car at the airport and start your trip with a relaxing visit to the famous Blue Lagoon geothermal spa. Then, continue to Reykjavík, and explore some of the volcanic landscapes of the Reykjanes Peninsula or the capital, Reykjavík. Overnight in Reykjavík.

• day 2

  West and North-West

  Start your journey by exploring the west and northwest, passing through the lava fields of Borgarfjörður and the islands of Skagafjörður, before reaching the remote town of Siglufjörður, on the Tröllaskagi peninsula, in the north. Night in Siglufjörður.

• day 3

  Akureyri and Myvatn

  Stop at the Akureyri cultural center, the largest city in Iceland outside the capital. Admire the Godafoss waterfall and the many gems of Lake Myvatn, including the bubbling hot springs of Námaskarð. Night in Myvatn.

• day 4

  North of Iceland

  Enjoy a memorable walk north to the village of Húsavík and through the magnificent glacial canyon of Ásbyrgi. Further up, the canyon is about to be swept away by the Dettifoss waterfall. Continue eastwards in Iceland, passing through the sandy desert of Möðrudalsöræfi. Overnight in the town of Egilsstaðir.

  Eastfjords

  It's time for the great and misty Eastfjords. Choose from many exciting excursions in isolated fishing villages before heading to the Vatnajökull glacier area. Overnight in Höfn.

• day 6

  Jökulsárlón and Vatnajökull National Park

  Today, everything revolves around Vatnajökull and its most beautiful spots. The most famous is the otherworldly glacial lagoon, Jökulsárlón, where fragments of the glacier float in a fantastic setting. Later, enjoy spectacular views of the glacier and the mountains of Skaftafell, as well as the vast sands of Skeiðarársandur. Overnight in the village of Vík.

• day 7

  South Coast

  The picturesque south coast offers many gems, including the black sand beach and oceanic rocks of Reynisfjara, the Dyrhólaey arch, as well as the wonderful duo of waterfalls Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss. You will also get a glimpse of the famous volcano-glacier Eyjafjallajökull. Overnight stay near Gullfoss.

• day 8

  Golden Circle

  Finish the visit with the most visited tourist attractions in Iceland: the spectacular Gullfoss waterfall, the powerful Strokkur geyser, which erupts frequently, and the rift valley where the Icelandic parliament met for a thousand years, between the tectonic plates of Europe and America. Night in Reykjavík or Keflavík.
