The massive mandala of the stupa makes it one of the largest spherical stupas in the world. Boudha Stupa was inscribed on the World Heritage list by UNESCO in 1979 and it is one of the most popular tourist sites in Kathmandu. The stupa dates from 600 AD and was built by a Tibetan king. In Kathmandu

    À Katmandou

Visit of the city of Patan and Bhaktapur Durbar Square Patan: Patan is the oldest of the three cities in the Kathmandu Valley. Patan Durbar Square is located in the center of the city of Lalitpur in Nepal. One of its attractions is the old royal palace where the Malla kings resided in Lalitpur. The city is surrounded by 4 stupas, one at each corner of its cardinal points. These stupas are said to have been built by the famous emperor Ashoka. Many of the architectures date from the 1600s and were built during the period of the Malla kings, especially under the reign of King Siddhi Narsingh Malla and his son Srinivasa Sukriti. Among the main places to visit in Patan are the Patan Museum, Krishna Temple, Rato Machhindranath, Bhimsen Temple, Ashoka Stupa, Banglamukhi Temple, and other temples. Bhaktapur: The city is also known as a museum of medieval art and architecture, with many examples of sculpture, wood carving, and colossal pagoda temples dedicated to different gods and goddesses. It is located 15 km from Kathmandu. It is a conglomeration of pagodas and Shikhar-style temples grouped around a fifty-five window brick and wood palace. The square is one of the most beautiful architectural jewels of the valley, as it showcases the ancient arts of Nepal. The golden effigies of kings perched atop stone monoliths, the guardian deities watching from their shrines, the wood carvings on every pedestrian, lintel, post, tympanum, door, and window, all seem to form a well-orchestrated symphony. Pottery and weaving are its main traditional industries. Overnight at the hotel in Kathmandu.
