Arrival in Kathmandu (1,300 m)Arrival in Kathmandu, depending on your flight schedule. Welcome by your local guide at the airport exit with an agency sign and transfer to your hotel. Briefing and presentation of the itinerary for your stay. In case of morning arrival, day of rest or possibility to visit the tourist district of Thamel for those who wish. Your hotel is located in the heart of the tourist city. Night in hotel.
day 2
Departure for Pattale (2,840 m)Transfer to the bus station, then drive by local jeep to Pattale. Journey through rice fields and other crops. Enjoy local life along the road and the Sunkoshi river, in a splendid landscape. Short stop for lunch, then continuation to Pattale. Overnight with a local host.
day 3
Pattale (2,840 m) - Sisakhola (2,100 m)Wake up at dawn and depart for the Phokte viewpoint at 3,200 m to admire the sunrise over the Himalayan ranges. A perfect spot to take a great selfie and souvenir photos, then return to the lodge for a good breakfast. Next, depart downhill for your first day of trekking to Kerung, a SHERPA village. Visit the monastery and stop for lunch, then continue your walk passing through the village of Chimding, a TAMANG village, then Sisa Khola. Overnight with a local family.
day 4
Sisakhola (2 100 m) - Dimil (2 900 m)Second day of walking. You will start your day with an easy walk to the village of Solnasa, of the MAGAR ethnic group, then gradually climb towards the village of Lumsa, of the SHERPA ethnic group. Lunch break, then continue walking towards the small traditional village of Dimil. Overnight stay with a local family.
day 5
Dimil (2,900 m) - Pike Base Camp (3,650 m)Ascent towards the Pike Peak base camp through a forest of rhododendrons and fir trees. Night in a modest lodge.
day 6
Base Camp (3,640 m) - Pikey Peak (4,070 m) - Lamjura (3,500 m)A beautiful day ahead: your goal for the day will be to reach the 4,000 m of Pike Peak. The gradual ascent takes about 1h30 to the summit, a major pilgrimage site in summer for the local population, famous for its natural incense (sunpati). You will enjoy the panoramic view of the Himalayan range. In front of you stand Annapurna, Manaslu, Everest (8,848 m), Lhotse (8,501 m), Makalu (8,483 m), Nuptse (7,864 m), Ama Dablam (6,856 m) as well as Thamserku (6,608 m). Take a few photos to capture this memorable moment, before starting a long descent towards the village of Jasmane Banjyang, where we stop for lunch, then continue walking to Lamjura. Night in a modest lodge.
day 7
Lamjura (3,530 m) - Junbesi (2,700 m) - Thupten Chöling Gompa (2,950 m)Today, we resume the historic Everest trail. We start with a short climb up to the Lamjura pass (3530 m), then a long descent to the charming Sherpa village of Junbesi, where we stop for lunch. Next, we begin an easy ascent to the impressive Thupten Chöling Gompa monastery, where we will stay for 2 nights. This place is well known for its famous founding master, Trulshik Rinpoche, reincarnated 32 times, and today hosts more than 300 "red hat" monks (Nyingma tradition, teachings of the oldest traditions of Tibetan Buddhism). We visit the main monastery and attend a service. Depending on availability, the night is spent either at the monastery itself or in a guest house belonging to the monastery. Night at the monastery.
day 8
Thupten Chöling Gompa (2,920 m)This day is dedicated to visiting the surroundings of the monastery. It is possible to go to the village of Phungmuche, which is home to another large monastery, to the traditional Sherpa village of Pankarma, or to climb up to Shengeephuk. For those who wish, it is possible to stay at the monastery all day and observe the monks' daily activities. Night at the monastery
day 9
Thupten Chöling Gompa (2,920 m) - Khoriya (2,350 m)Today, we head towards the village of Khoriya where we spend a night with a Sherpa family. Easy descent towards Beni following the river to reach Phaplu, then the town of Salleri, capital of Solukhumbu. The walk continues towards Nayabazar and Dorphu Bazar, then a long descent to the Solukhola river to cross the suspension bridge before gradually climbing back up to the village of Khoriya, mostly inhabited by the Sherpa ethnic group. Arrival at the family's home and settling in. Night with the locals.
day 10
Khoriya (2,350 m) - Chulemu (2,200 m)After breakfast, in the morning, visit of the Khoriya monastery and primary school (closed on Saturdays and public holidays). In the afternoon, departure to the village of Chulemu. Overnight stay with a local family.
day 11
Chulemu (2,200 m) - KathmanduEarly morning wake-up, departure from Chulemu by jeep to Kathmandu. Descent towards Okhaldhunga along a winding road overlooking the valley, then the road follows the Sunkoshi river for about a hundred kilometers, offering superb views all along the way. Lunch break en route, then continuation to Kathmandu. Check-in. Night in hotel.
day 12
DepartureAccording to the schedule, return flight to France. Your guide will accompany you to Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu for your departure. We hope you will leave with unforgettable memories and that we have made your stay enjoyable. We wish you a pleasant return flight!
