In KathmanduVisit of the city of Patan and Bhaktapur Durbar Square Patan: Patan is the oldest of the three cities in the Kathmandu Valley. Patan Durbar Square is located in the center of the city of Lalitpur in Nepal. One of its attractions is the old royal palace where the Malla kings resided in Lalitpur. The city is surrounded by 4 stupas, one at each corner of its cardinal points. These stupas are said to have been built by the famous emperor Ashoka. Many of the architectures date from the 1600s and were built during the period of the Malla kings, especially under the reign of King Siddhi Narsingh Malla and his son Srinivasa Sukriti. Among the main places to visit in Patan are the Patan Museum, Krishna Temple, Rato Machhindranath, Bhimsen Temple, Ashoka Stupa, Banglamukhi Temple, and other temples. It is located 15 km from Kathmandu. It is a conglomeration of pagodas and Shikhar-style temples grouped around a fifty-five window brick and wood palace. The square is one of the most beautiful architectural jewels of the valley, as it showcases the ancient arts of Nepal.
