The mountain itself, venerated since time immemorial by all those who live in its shadow, has long attracted the attention of pioneering mountaineers and explorers, mystics and spiritualists, writers and everyday travelers who have visited the region. This classic trek takes us through the picturesque meadows and valleys that border the western edge of the Nanda Devi sanctuary.

  • day 1

    Arrival in Delhi

    You are greeted by our representative upon arrival and transferred to the hotel.

  • day 2

    Delhi - Haridwar - Train

    After breakfast, departure by train to Haridwar. Arrival in Haridwar and check-in at the hotel. The rest of the time, visit of the city and Ganges ceremony. Overnight at the hotel.

  • day 3

    Haridwar - Joshimath 1890 m

    After an early breakfast, you will head to the pilgrim town of Joshimath, located 280 km away, via Devprayag, Rudraprayag, and Karnpriyag. Its name is a corruption of the Sanskrit word "Jyotirmath," or the place of the Jyotirlinga of Lord Shiva. It is a popular stop for pilgrims heading to Badrinath. Badrinath, or Lord Vishnu, resides here in winter. In the evening, explore Joshimath. Overnight at the hotel.

    Joshimath - Lata Village 2317 m

    The road from Joshimath to Lata Village is a spectacular journey. You set out for the village of Lata, a 1.5 km walk, and visit the ancient temple of Nanda Devi. The day is devoted to exploring the region's distinctive culture and you will spend the night in the village. Night in the village.

    Lata Village - Lata Kharak 3689 m

    Today, you begin the steep 8.5 km trek from the village to Lata Kharak, a high plateau surrounded by lofty peaks. The climb is arduous but extremely rewarding, as the views are excellent. Although the trek can be done in 6 hours, stops to admire the scenery and the steep incline could take you nearly 9 hours. It is best to start very early in the morning from Lata. Night at the Lata Kharak camp.

  • day 6

    Lata Kharak - Dharansi Pass 4,250 m

    You wake up to see the mighty Dronagiri, Nanda Ghunti, and several snow-capped peaks all around. Today, you make a steep ascent to Jhandi Dhar and the Bagyana Pass. From there, the trail goes up and down through the narrow Satkul gorge to the Dharansi Pass, where you camp for the night.

  • day 7

    Dharansi Pass - Debrugheta - Dharansi Pass 4250 m

    Today, you continue the hike towards the Malthuni-Bethratoli ridges of the inner and outer sanctuary, which form a magnificent pass up to Rani Kholi and Donidar. The trail descends steeply for about 1 kilometer from Debrugheta, then you return to the Dharansi pass in the late afternoon. Night at the Dharansi pass.

  • day 8

    Dharansi Pass - Hitoli 2900 m

    On this day, you cover a distance of 11 km. From Jhandi Dhar, a steep descent of 4.5 km takes you to the Hitoli campsite through thick forests of rhododendrons, ferns, and birches. You spend the night at the camp.

  • day 9

    Hitoli - Joshimath 1890 m – Auli

    Today, the 8 km trek goes through the forests. The trail takes you through the village of Tolma to the road, from where it is 30 km to Joshimath. Arrival at Joshimath and transfer to Auli. Night in Auli.

  • day 10

    Auli – Rudraprayag 1550 m

    Today, after breakfast, departure towards Rudraprayag via Joshimath. Upon arrival, check-in at your hotel. Visit the confluence of the Mandakini and Alaknanda rivers in the evening. Overnight in Rudraprayag.

  • day 11

    Rudraprayag – Rishikesh 619 m

    After breakfast, you will be driven to Rishikesh on your way back to Delhi. Upon arrival, you will be checked in at your hotel. Day at leisure or dedicated to sightseeing activities. Overnight in Rishikesh.

  • day 12

    Rishikesh - Delhi - Departure from Delhi

    After breakfast, you will begin the last stage of your journey. You will return to Delhi, making a stop at Haridwar for a short while. Upon your arrival in Delhi, you will be transferred to a pre-booked room in a hotel to change. Later, transfer to the airport for your return home.
