• day 1

  Ho Chi Minh City – Arrival

  Arrival at the airport and welcome by our guide and driver at the airport exit. Transfer to the hotel. Free time for rest and/or a first independent visit of the city. Overnight at the hotel in Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon).

• day 2

  HCM City - City Tour

  Breakfast. Then, city tour with a visit to the Cathedral, the Central Post Office, the former Catina Street, and the City Hall. Next, departure for the Cho Lon district and discovery of its old neighborhoods, the Binh Tay wholesale market, as well as the Quan Am temple-pagoda. This pagoda is particularly colorful and is one of the oldest in the city. Its architecture, layout, and decoration have remained almost intact since its construction. Lunch at a local restaurant. Then, stroll in the botanical garden and the zoo of Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon). Return and walk on Nguyen Hue boulevard at the end of the day. Overnight at the hotel.

• day 3

  HCM City – Cu Chi – HCM City

  Breakfast and departure for one of the most striking sites in the history of the Vietnam War: the Cu Chi tunnels of BEN DUOC, a true underground city made up of a network of over 250 km of tunnels. It was from this place that the Viet Cong waged their resistance war against American troops. Return to Ho Chi Minh City. Free time. Overnight at the hotel.

• day 4

  HCM City – My Tho – Cai Lay

  Breakfast, then departure to My Tho (80 km, 1h30). It is one of the most beautiful regions of the Mekong Delta, renowned for the production of coconut candies. Boat excursion on the Mekong arm through the Dragon, Unicorn, Phoenix, and Turtle islands. Discovery of the daily life of the inhabitants. Visit of fruit gardens and a coconut product factory. This will be an opportunity to taste fresh fruits and honey tea. Carriage ride on small paths through the villages while observing the coconut groves and gardens. Followed by a rowing boat ride in the small canals in the shade of the palm trees. Then, lunch by the Mekong with elephant ear fish. Disembarkation and continuation of the road to Cai Lay. Accommodation with a local family. A short walk is possible to start discovering the life of the villagers. Dinner and overnight stay with the local family.

• day 5

  Cai Lay – Cai Be – Vinh Long – Sa Dec – Long Xuyen

  Breakfast then departure towards Cai Be (20 km). Visit of a Cao Dai temple en route. Upon arrival, boarding for a cruise on the Mekong to Vinh Long. Discover the languorous charm of the legendary Mekong River, by exploring the floating market of Cai Be and the canals lined with orchards. Visit of a craft workshop for rice popcorn, coconut caramel, rice cakes. Walk on foot along the small village paths to meet the inhabitants. Outdoor lunch in a garden with tasting of the local specialty: elephant ear fish. Tasting of exotic fruits, then crossing of the Mekong branch. Visit of a garden on An Binh island. Disembarkation at Vinh Long and continuation of the road to Sa Dec, where we visit the Kien An Cung pagoda, the Huynh Thuy Le house which is found in Marguerite Duras' novel: “The Lover”, and the Sa Dec market, very rich in fish, fruits and vegetables. Continuation of the road to Long Xuyen. Visit of a Caodai temple en route and the crocodile farm. Free time. Overnight at the hotel in Long Xuyen.

• day 6

  Long Xuyen – floating market – Chau Doc

  Early in the morning, departure aboard small boats towards the village of Long Xuyen and its floating market, very lively and authentic. Discovery of the daily activities of people living on the Mekong. Visit of Cu Lao Ong Ho, where there is a small museum about the former president Ton Duc Thang, followed by a short bike ride (or walk) on the island. Route to Chau Doc. Walk through the Chau Doc market, then board a boat to visit the floating fish farm village (a fish farm) and the Cham Islamic village. Discovery of Mount Sam (287 m) with its colorful temples and pagodas: Chua Ba Chua Xu, Lang Thoai Ngoc Hau, Chua Tay An. Possibility to climb to the summit on foot or by moto-taxi (40,000 VND per person, at your own expense). Overnight at the hotel in Chau Doc.

• day 7

  Chau Doc – Tra Su – Ha Tien

  Breakfast. Departure for Tra Su to visit the flooded Tra Su reserve, which is also a bird park. Then, continue along the border road to Ha Tien. Brief discovery of the city of Ha Tien: temples, pagoda, cave (depending on the time of arrival in Ha Tien). Overnight at the hotel in Ha Tien.

• day 8

  Ha Tien – Phu Quoc by fast boat

  Breakfast. Transfer to the pier and boarding a speedboat to Phu Quoc. Welcome by the hotel and free time. Enjoy your free time to discover the incredible beauty of this island. Overnight at the hotel in Phu Quoc.

• day 9

  Beach – Phu Quoc

  Breakfast. Free time for the beach Overnight at the hotel in Phu Quoc.
