Trip Description

The Everest Base Camp trek is a customized trail and is perhaps the most famous in the world. This trek is the ideal tour for a hiker starting an adventure career in Nepal. This amazing trail crosses the foothills of Everest, the highest peak in the world, as well as other magnificent peaks like Ama Dablam, Pumori, Lhotse, Nupse, Cho Oyo, and many others. It is the homeland of the brave mountain Sherpa and Buddhist hospitality. The Everest Base Camp trek plunges into the wonders of the beautiful countryside, with peaceful blue-roofed houses, colorful Buddhist prayer flags, fragrant rhododendron flowers, spectacular landscapes, prayer walls, and Buddhist monasteries. There is a half-hour flight between Kathmandu and Lukla to start the Everest Base Camp trek. The trek continues through charming Sherpa villages: the small Sherpa settlement at Phakding, the prosperous Sherpa capital Namche Bazaar, Tyangboche with its impressive monastery, the quieter village of Dingboche, Lobuche, to arrive at Gorakshep. Each point along this route rewards you with wonder amidst breathtaking views. Finally, walk up to Kalapathar (5,554 m), a rocky hill that offers a 360-degree panorama of spectacular 8,000 m peaks, each framing the highest mountain in the world. Gorakshep is the starting point for hikers who wish to trek to the Everest Base Camp, where climbers set up their camp to conquer the summit of Mount Everest. The journey returns along the same path to Lukla, then back to Kathmandu.
