The Everest foothills camping trek takes you on a 6-day adventure in the green foothills below Mount Everest. If it is your first time trekking in Nepal, this is a great opportunity to do an easy trek with spectacular views of the entire Himalayan range from east to west in Nepal. Though famous for offering the best view of Mount Everest according to Sir Edmund Hillary, this off-the-beaten-track route is little used by trekkers, and you will have the trails to yourself. Nights will be spent in the comfort of our exclusive camp.
day 1
Drive to Phaplu | Explore the village | Overnight stay at a local guesthouseOur staff will pick you up at your hotel in Kathmandu and arrange private transportation from Kathmandu to Phaplu, an adventurous ride of about 8–9 hours. Upon arrival in Phaplu, our team will meet and greet you, provide a delicious meal, and arrange your stay at a teahouse or lodge for the first night.
day 2
Start trek to Tenkharka | 3,000 meters, 4-5 hours walking | Overnight stay in camping tentAfter breakfast, you will trek to Tenkharka, with lunch provided on the way. The trail starts from the local village and then leads up into the hills. The path is gradually ascending throughout the day. Our camping crew will set up all the sleeping tents, dining tent, and toilet tent, and will provide all warm meals, sleeping bags, tea/coffee, water, etc., so that you do not have to worry about anything.
day 3
Trek to Suke Pokhari at 3,600 meters | 3-4 hours of walking | Overnight stay in a camping tentAfter breakfast, you will trek to Suke Pokhari, with lunch provided along the way. The trail is gradually ascending on this day. Our camping crew will set up all the sleeping tents, dining tent, and toilet tent, and will provide all warm meals, sleeping bags, tea/coffee, water, etc., so that you do not have to worry about anything.
day 4
Trek to Pamu Danda, 3,500 meters | 5 hours walking | Overnight stay in a camping tentAfter enjoying a delicious outdoor breakfast, you will begin your trek towards Pamu Danda. This is one of the most beautiful camping spots of the Everest Pikey camping trip, offering truly magnificent views. From here, you can enjoy panoramic mountain vistas of the entire Everest region.
day 5
Trek to River Camp at 2,700 meters (morning ascent of Pikey Peak, 4,000 meters) | 5–7 hours walking | Overnight stay in a camping tentToday is the highlight of the trip. Early in the morning, you will hike with your guide to Pikey Viewpoint to witness the sunrise and enjoy the panoramic views of Everest. After breakfast, you will continue your trek towards Junbesi River Camp.
day 6
Trek to Phaplu (2,500 m) – 3–4 hrs walk | Optional morning hike to Thupten Choeling Monastery (2–3 hrs) | Overnight at a local guesthouseToday, after breakfast, you can hike to the local Thupten Choeling Monastery in Junbesi, which takes about 2 hours to reach. After your visit, you will have lunch in Junbesi before heading down to Phaplu. After a few hours of walking, you will arrive in Phaplu village, where we will arrange your lodge accommodation, dinner, hot beverages, and an overnight stay. Today is also a day of celebration, tipping, and cheerful moments together at the lodge.
day 7
Drive back to Kathmandu (7-9 hours) and transfer to your hotel.We will arrange transportation from Phaplu to Kathmandu, a journey of about 8–9 hours. After breakfast, you will leave Phaplu and drive back to Kathmandu. Upon arrival, our staff will transfer you to your hotel or preferred location. The following day, our head office staff will meet you for a farewell dinner.
