Arrival in Keflavik – HveragerðiYour vehicle will be taken care of as soon as you arrive at the airport so you can start your stay in Iceland without delay. From Keflavik International Airport, we recommend driving along the south coast of the Reykjanes Peninsula towards the charming village of Hveragerði. The village is one of the few places in the world located directly above a geothermal area. Because of its many greenhouses heated by hot water from these nearby sources, it is often called the village of flowers.

Hveragerði – Gullfoss – Geysir – Þingvellir – BorgarfjörðurGolden Falls – Geysers – Thingvellir National Park Continue your journey to the Gullfoss waterfall and the hot springs of Geysir. Visit Thingvellir National Park, site of the ancient Icelandic parliament, before traveling along the Hvalfjörður fjord or the Kaldidalur track (4x4 vehicle required) to reach Borgarfjörður.

Borgarfjörður – Blönduós – Varmahlíð – AkureyriAgricultural regions – Glacial rivers – Akureyri, the capital of the north – Icelandic horses Continue your journey north by crossing Borgafjörður to reach the wide bay of Húnaflói as well as the Skagafjörður valley, with its imposing mountains. Then continue your route towards Akureyri, the capital of the North.

Akureyri – MývatnBotanical garden – Museums – So-called "Gods' Waterfall". Visit the village of Akureyri in the morning. Continue your journey to the unique region of Lake Mývatn.
day 5
MývatnStrange volcanic formations – Geothermal phenomena – Varied wildlife Discover the natural wonders of Lake Mývatn and its surroundings, including the strange volcanic formations of Dimmuborgir. Visit the volcanic region of Krafla and the Námaskard fields burned by sulfuric acid. Optional: Mývatn ornithological museum, the hot baths at Mývatn "Jarðböðin".

Húsavík – Tjörnes – Dettifoss – EgilsstaðirWhale watching – Glacial canyon – Most powerful waterfall in Europe Take the road north to reach the fishing village of Húsavík and follow the Tjörnes peninsula. Visit Ásbyrgi, a magnificent horseshoe-shaped canyon, and the Jökulsárgljúfur National Park. Continue your journey to Dettifoss, the most powerful waterfall in Europe, before heading towards Egilsstaðir across the highlands. Optional: whale watching from Húsavík.
day 7
Reyðarfjörður – Stöðvarfjörður – Djúpivogur – HöfnEnclosed fjords – Steep mountains – Picturesque coastline – Mineral collection Continue your journey by heading south through the East fjords, where you will discover splendid landscapes of mountains sinking into the fjords. Continue towards the village of Höfn, a gateway to the south coast, in the Hornafjörður region. Optional: French Fishermen's Museum in Fáskrúðsfjörður, visit to Petra's mineral collection in Stöðvarfjörður.

Skaftafell – KirkjubæjarklausturLargest glacier in Europe – glacial lagoon and its icebergs – largest national park in Europe. Take the road to the Jökulsárlón glacial lagoon before continuing to Skaftafell National Park, where we recommend a hike. Continue your journey to the picturesque village of Kirkjubæjarklaustur. Optional: boat trip on the Jökulsárlón glacial lagoon.
day 9
Vík – Skógar – ReykjavíkLava fields – The black sand beaches of the South Coast – Puffin colony – Waterfalls Continue your journey along the spectacular south coast, where you can admire its magnificent landscapes, including black sand deserts, rocky shores, farmland, glaciers, and mountains. Return to Reykjavík. Optional: visit to the Skógar folk museum, Eyjafjallajökull information center.

Reykjavik - ParisDeparture for Reykjavik airport and return flight to Paris.
