The tour of the Annapurnas, in two weeks, is the unexpected dream of many trekkers. It's considered by many hikers as the most beautiful in the world; it's indeed a beautiful adventure that bypasses the impressive Annapurnas range and crosses the mountains of Dhaulagiri, all summits of more than 8,000 m. Everything is in this journey that crosses, even in a short version, a maximum of Nepalese landscapes, from green rice fields to the climb of the famous Thorong La Pass (5,416 m) and up to the fascinating descent to Jomoson, close to the mysterious flanks of the Mustang… Then, for more comfort, an unforgettable flight to Kathmandu, over the grandiose Dhaulagiri (8,167 m) and Annapurnas (8,691 m) mountains… An amazing journey in the land of the rice fields and in the high valleys of Tibetan and Buddhist influence very marked. Arrival at the airport of Kathmandu, welcome by our team then installation at the hotel. Briefing by your guide on the course of the trek and final preparations. Rest of the day free for a first immersion in the capital of the famous temples with roofs in "pagodas". Free meals.


Transfer: private vehicle, approximately 1 hour. Accommodation: hotel***.

Note: For some time now, the "luggage carriers" have been putting pressure on leaving Kathmandu airport; they are becoming more and more urgent even with our guides. The "normal" tip for this "service" is 100 Rps (€1) per person.




Day 3 : Katmandou - Besi Sahar (760 m) - Ngadi (950 m) or Jagat (1300 m)

Early in the morning, departure from Kathmandu by private vehicle towards Bhulbule, terminus of the road; then we take another type of vehicle, adapted to the track, in order to reach the village of Ngadi, along the river Marsyangdi, crossing the rice fields and the first Nepalese villages... beautiful views of traditional houses and terraced crops of corn and millet. Arrival at the village of Ngadi or Jagat for our first night in lodge.


Transfer: private vehicle and jeep, about 6 to 7 hours drive. Accommodation: lodge. Meals included: morning - noon - evening.




Day 4 : Jagat - Chame (2670 m)

Still among the terraced rice fields and forests, sometimes uphill, sometimes downhill and always along the Marsyangdi river, we continue our journey by vehicle to reach the village of Chame. 

Transfer: jeep, about 4 to 5 hours.

Accommodation: lodge.

Meals included: morning - noon - evening.




Day 5 : Chame - Pisang (3200 m)



After crossing a beautiful forest and orchards, the valley widens over the country of Manang, a vast plateau where small Tibetan villages with flat roofs are nestled; the path allows to contemplate the Annapurnas, the Pisang Peak as well as the Chulus. Along the prayer walls, arrive at the typical village of Pisang (3,200 m) with its houses with roofs on the terrace; visit its monastery.


Walking time: 5 to 6 hours. Positive drop: + 480 m. Negative drop: - 350 m. Accommodation: lodge. Meals included: morning - noon - evening.




Day 6 : Pisang - Ghyaru - Ngawal

In front of the huge glacial barrier of the northern slopes of Annapurnas IV, II and III, Gangapurna and Tarke Gyang, we climb up to the village of Ghyaru in one of the most beautiful landscapes in the world! Ghyaru is a small village where nothing has changed in centuries. All the houses are turned towards the goddess of the place: the mountain of Annapurnas II (7,937m). This mass is more than 10 km as the crow flies and yet it seems so close… On a balcony path, you continue your journey and arrive at the village of Ngawal (3600 m), one of the most beautiful villages of the road.

Day 7 : Ngawal - Manang (3540 m)



Through a balcony path, we cross the villages of Julu, Munji and Braga with its small monastery... We arrive early in Manang so we can visit the village taking all our time.


Walking time: about 4 hours. Positive drop: + 270 m. Negative drop: - 390 m. Accommodation: lodge. Meals included: morning - noon - evening.




Day 8 : Manang - Day of acclimatization

Rest day in Manang to promote acclimatization... Discovery of the village of Manang which is a village built at the foot of the Annapurnas. Surrounded by glaciers and high peaks, Manang opens the doors to a discovery where traditions and ancestral customs persist in this village at the end of the world. Then you can go up to the village of Khangsar (377 m), located on the trail that leads to Lake Tilicho.


Walking time: 4 hours 30 approx. Positive drop: + 500 m. Negative drop: - 200 m. Accommodation: lodge. Meals included: morning - noon - evening.




Day 9 : Manang - Yak Kharka (also called Ledar hamlet) (4018 m)

Ascent towards the village of Yack Kharka; it is called Yack Kharka because this region is the territory of the yak, bred for its ability to carry heavy loads but also for its meat and milk. The village of Yak Kharka is also called Ledar.

Walking time: about 4 hours.

Difference in height: + 630 m.

Negative altitude difference: - 130 m.

Day 10 : Yack Kharka - Thorong Phedi (4450 m)

Slow progression to Thorong Phedi (4450 m); the altitude gradually increases and is felt; "Phedi" means "below" and is located just at the foot of the famous Thorong La passage. The stage may seem short but it is necessary to perfect the acclimatization in order to pass the Thorong La pass the next day.


Walking time: 4 to 5 hours. Positive drop: + 470 m. Negative drop: - 150 m. Accommodation: lodge. Meals included: morning - noon - evening.




Day 11 : Thorong Phedi - Thorang la (5416 m) - Muktinah (3750)

One of the strongest moments of the journey: early wake up and arrival shortly after sunrise at the Thorong La pass (5416 m). Climb the roughest of the trip because largely due to the altitude. This mountain pass gives access to the Kali Gandaki valley and the mysterious slopes of the Mustang. Descent through the arid slopes of the western slope and first glimpse of another giant of the Himalayan range: the Dhaulagiri (8167 m). Arrival in Muktinah (3750 m) in the late afternoon, at the gates of the famous Mustang. Muktinah is also known for its pilgrimage but also for its natural gas source that feeds the sacred flame. Superb views of the Dhaulagiri (8167 m) and Nilgiri (7061 m) peaks.

Walking time: between 8 and 9 hours. Positive drop: + 970 m. Negative drop: - 1660 m.

Day 12 : Muktinah - Lupra (2790 m) - Jomosom (2720 m)

With grandiose landscapes opening onto the Tibetan highlands to the north and the high snow-capped mountains of Dhaulagiri and Nilgiri to the south, we cross a last pass at 4000 m with exceptional views of the Himalayan mountains, then it is the descent to Lupra, the only village "Bön" on our route. the religion "Bön" is the Tibetan religion pre-existing to Buddhism. Then arrived in Jomosom.


Walking time: about 6 hours. Positive drop: + 500 m. Negative drop: - 1100 m. Accommodation: lodge. Meals included: morning - noon - evening.




Day 13 : Jomosom - Pokhara - Katmandouu (1340 m)

Morning departure for Jomosom airport in order to reach Pokhara aboard a small twin-engine, flying over the entire valley of the Kali Gandaki; arriving in Pokhara, and we will have a second flight to Kathmandu. Free lunch in Kathmandu, traditional dinner in a typical restaurant for the last evening in Kathmandu.


Flight time: about 1 hour. Accommodation: hotel***. Meals included: morning - evening. Meals not included: noon.




Day 14 : Katmandou - France



If the flight times allow, free day in Kathmandu where we can make the last purchases/ souvenirs or visit some monuments. Then transfer to the airport for the flight to France. Free meals. Arrival in France usually the next day.
